But the thing was that no one was being able to beat him. The betting would go on for a large amount of time and then Quartz would win at the end, swiping away all the currency.
"Luck my foot." Woozi muttered, "He's clearly bluffing everyone."
"Yet people are dumb enough to bet that amount of money." Vernon rolled his eyes.
"Joshua?" Jeonghan smirked, "Let's play."
"Sure." Joshua chuckled as both of them made their way towards the desired stall.
"Welcome to the game of luck, gentlemen." Quartz bowed respectfully.
"Hmm your game looks amazing." Jeonghan leaned on the counter, "I heard no one could beat you?"
"My luck." Quartz chuckled.
"I also heard that once all of your game money gets over, you'll close the stall?" Joshua cocked a brow.
"Yeah but-" Quartz tapped at the box of money, "God's grace."
"Wanna play?" Jeonghan challenged.
"It would be my honor." Quartz stated, "How much you are going to use?"
"How much do you have?" Jeonghan asked, "Use it all. I'll be using the same amount."
Quartz's eyes widened after which he grinned ear to ear, "I see you're eager to go bankrupt. Fine, you start."
Jeonghan nodded as he pulled out one card from each set. They came out to be different. The people surrounding them were in awe. Yoon Jeonghan's luck failed? That wasn't possible.
"Here you go." Jeonghan placed the currency on the counter.
"Good start." Quartz passed a quirky grin as his attempt also failed and he made his bet.
The game went on as both of the players were finally on the verge of finishing their game money.
Quartz decided to use his foul play as he pulled out two similar cards which he knew beforehand. But as soon as he turned the cards, they came out to be different as he frowned.
"What happened? You suddenly look worried?" Jeonghan chuckled while sharing a glance with Joshua.
"Uh- nothing-" Quartz scratched his forehead, "Here's my bet."
"Joshua? Wanna try?" Jeonghan offered.
"Sure." Joshua nodded as he pulled out the cards but he failed as well.
Quartz sighed in relief as Joshua placed the last currency left with them.
He used his trick again but failed to do so. He placed his last bet as well.
"What will happen if both of us fail in this round too?" Jeonghan asked, "Both of us are left with no money."
"We will keep playing until one wins without betting." Quartz explained, "Suppose I win after ten rounds then you'll have to serve me for ten days and vice versa."
"Interesting." Jeonghan chuckled, "Continue."
The game went on for fifteen rounds. Quartz kept failing and he couldn't really understand how. His tricks were failing each time as he was getting frustrated.
"Seventeenth round." Jeonghan declared as he pulled out two cards again, "Oh? I won."
"WHAT?" Quartz stood up.
"So all this money is ours and you'll serve him for sixteen days." Joshua stated.
"No way!" Quartz panicked, "This is not possible. YOUR SETS DIDN'T HAVE ANY SIMILAR CARDS."
