Interconnection

Chapter 10

"Y/N said that we shouldn't head to the base. We need to get as far away as possible," Nathan said with worry laced in his voice.

"She's probably referencing the battle that will occur," Whitney who had been quiet most of the time chimed in.

"Agreed," Carl said. "I still think we should try to find a way to help out though."

"How exactly?" Valerie asked.

"I'm not sure," Carl answered with some unease. "I know you, Valerie, have a bond with Wolit. Perhaps we could use that to our advantage somehow. You could try to make him attack Hadeon. Since Mothra and Rodan will both be going after her along with Godzilla, that could prove useful. Four against one."

Valerie's eyes widened in nervousness. Every time she tried to talk to him, he pushed her out. It was extremely hard for her to find a weak spot in his mind for her to delve into. She hated trying to talk to him and she knew he wasn't fond of her. Hence the refusal of letting her into his mind. Could she really try again and succeed? She wasn't all that confident in herself.

Nathan put a hand to her shoulder, sensing her uneasiness. "I don't know. She said she struggled a lot with that before."

"I know...I don't know what else to do at this point. Unless one of you has any other ideas," Carl replied.

Whitney began to think about other possibilities. She would hate to see Valerie endure such a traumatic event again. There had to be something else that could be done...

Godzilla, who still held Y/N in his hand, was making his way to the base. He could feel that this battle with Hadeon would be tough. He, Mothra, and Rodan just had to make it to the base before Hadeon could. If she released Wolit before they could get there, chaos would break out. Godzilla tried to get in contact with Mothra telepathically.

"Mothra," he called out to her.

Mothra, in mid-flight with Rodan, sensed the King reaching out to her, "Godzilla? You, okay?"

"Yes. I'm heading to the base now and I found the human who is similar to Cordelia. I have her with me."

Mothra was surprised by that, but happy, "That's wonderful!"

"Have you and Rodan reached the base?"

"We're almost there. It's within sight."

"Great! You don't see Hadeon anywhere, do you?"

Both Mothra and Rodan did some extra survey of the area. Rodan's eyes widened.

"I see her!" Rodan exclaimed.

"She's almost to the base now," Mothra answered.

Godzilla huffed through his nostrils like a sigh, "Be careful. I'll make haste and be there soon."

"We will."

Godzilla cut the connection and shook his head.

"Godzilla?" Y/N asked telepathically with worry.

He turned an eye to her, "We need to hurry."

Y/N nodded in understanding. Everything from him could be felt heavily on her. It felt like boulders were hurdled at them both, crushing them under their weight.

"Human," Godzilla said to Y/N.

"Yes?"

"I'll need you to do as I say but keep a close watch on things as well."
