Interconnection

Chapter 10

"Right. By the way, you can call me by my name. Y/N."

"Okay. Y/N."

It felt surprising, but nice to hear Godzilla say her name. She knew he probably had heard others say her name in his dreams, but it felt nice hearing him say it. Perhaps he didn't want to say her name at first because of the uneasiness of what happened before with Cordelia. He didn't want the bond again with another human.

Godzilla did feel strange at first saying her name, but it wore off and turned to happiness. He knew he needed to do what Mothra had to tell him before. If another human can connect with him like Cordelia was able to before, embrace it and accept it. It admittedly did feel good to let himself have a connection with a human again. He however would make sure that Y/N stayed safe. He didn't want to see another human perish by Hadeon, especially Y/N.

He knew he may be getting slightly ahead of himself here, but he had seen through her eyes for quite a number of years. He knew Y/N was still young in human years, being in her mid-twenties was what humans called it if he remembered correctly. He had seen through her perspective for a good amount of her life. He knew he didn't really know her still, but seeing some of what she was like and growing up was a bit fascinating. He would admit that, but he kept choosing not to engage much with it either. Now that she was here with him, he could really try to know who exactly Y/N is. After the battle of course.

Y/N hoped to know more about who the famous alpha titan really is. She knew it wasn't the best moment to think about such things, but it felt nice that he finally was letting her in. She was glad that he wanted her with him to try and help in this battle any way she could. She hoped to be of help somehow. If Cordelia could help him before in some of his past battles, why couldn't she?

Hadeon could see the military base. She had to do some crawling. She didn't want her wings to be totally ruined since they were still trying to heal. She glared at who too was approaching the base. Of course, Mothra had come and Rodan. Surprising to see the fire demon join in the cause. She loathed Mothra in particular. Always being loyal to the 'King' until the very end. It didn't matter what happened to her. She always served the alpha titan in any way she could. It annoyed Hadeon and she couldn't wait to be rid of the 'Queen.' The queen should've been Hadeon herself, not some giant bug like creature.

Hadeon screeched her battle cry to the two incoming titans. Rodan and Mothra glared at Hadeon, unleashing their own battle cries. Rodan and Mothra flapped their wings in succession, trying to reach the destructive titan before she had the chance to make the base crumble beneath her clawed feet. Rodan, hovering above her unleashed a fireball, causing burns to appear on her back. Hadeon cried out in pain. Mothra took the opportunity to spit out her sticky web to trap the creature in place by shooting at her clawed feet.

Hadeon easily broke the webbing and screeched once again. She tried to claw at Mothra who dodged. She next tried using her tail to Rodan who flew out of the way. She then got herself ready to use her lightning attack. Both Rodan and Mothra could see what was coming and they acted together. Rodan once more shot out a fireball and then Mothra shot out more webbing to encase Hadeon completely. Hadeon cried out in frustration at being trapped. She couldn't let them trap her this way.

Rodan had landed on the ground with Mothra. Both were not terribly exhausted, but they wanted to take the moment to rest. They knew this wasn't over yet. They would wait for Godzilla to make his appearance.

Gibson cursed under his breath. He had gone with a squad to Riversdale to round up Carl, Y/N, and everyone else that had gone missing. He was annoyed to learn that all of them had fled. However, it didn't seem to be a total loss as he thought more about it. He had gained information that Godzilla had taken Y/N and the two were headed back to the base. As for Carl and the others, he wasn't 100% sure where they were going. He had ordered another squad to closely follow the vehicle that was used by the escapees. He had made sure they could take a regular-looking car with them to better blend in as regular civilians and not the military.
