I was now looking up at her with a sour expression.
"... or maybe not..." Anri slowly retreated, putting her phone away to go get her laptop to clear up my next week's schedule
"... You know it depends on the football players coming- so who's going to be there?"

"There's many going but there is a special one from all of them~" Anri sat down on the floor, placing her laptop on the low coffee table
"Who?" I got off of the couch across from Anri, walked over to her, and sat down on the couch that was behind her

"Sae Itoshi." Anri said as she showed me her laptop, which had a picture of Sae

Flashback ~ Middle School

"You're just in denial, (Name)." Anri giggled
We both were sitting at the bleachers, there was a football game currently being played in the gym where we were at, we sat on the bottom row, and we decided to play a little game of saying who's the most good looking in the match
But in reality, Anri just wanted to play cupid for me...

"No but seriously- what's the appeal to Sae? He looks so... basic and all that. And he has so many girls wanting to be his girlfriend... I don't get it."
"You're sounding like a pick me." Anri poked my cheek
I glared at her
"I'm nooot- he's just... I don't know.."
"Maybe you'll grow to like him, who knows~" She leaned in close before taking a glance at Sae
"Hell no! He'll never be my crush." I crossed my arms as I glanced to her direction
I dropped my expression when I saw the reddish-brown haired boy look back at me
My cheeks immediately flushed.
I looked away and then back at Anri-
Who was smirking at me.
"What are you looking at, idiot..." I deadpanned at her
"Look at you~ soo in love with him already.. I call dibs on maid of honor at your wedding."
"In your dreams. You can go write your fanfiction about a fictional character but not about me and Sae-"
"You just gave me a great idea!~"
I groaned as I watch her pull out a small notepad... already knowing what kind of cringey stuff she will be writing on it.

High School ~ Graduation

"So? Still don't like Sae?" Anri appeared from behind me as I was watching everyone leave the graduation ceremony
"Puberty changed him a lot.. a bit more handsome I guess." I scratched my neck
He does look way more handsome now..
Anri smirked as she saw my expression
"Look who's in love~" She leaned in close to me
I glared at her
"Shut it.. it's not love."
"Liking?"
"No..."
"Crush?"
...
"Maybe-"
"A little bird reminded me that you said that Sae would never be your crush, what happened to that, huh?"
"Some things change alright- he looks way more handsome." I looked away from Anri
"Way more handsome? I thought you said he looked a bit more handsome?"
"Okay- but I changed my mind. He's handsome." I placed my hands on my hips and looked at her
"Well well, there we have it, confirmed by the one and only." Anri grinned before she wrapped an arm around my shoulder
"How about we go to our favorite bakery? We can go get your favorite~"
I immediately dropped all of my attitude and smiled at her
"Let's go!"

As Anri and I walked out, we passed by a group of boys who were also celebrating their graduation as well
One of the boys, who was a bit more distant from the group, looked over to Anri and (Name) and faintly smiled
"So, she thinks I'm handsome huh?"
Sae Itoshi chuckled to himself as he watched her leave alongside her friend
"(Name)..." Sae mumbled under his breath, enjoying how her name felt rolling on the tip of his tongue
He glanced at the direction she left at, watching as her figure slowly faded away before taking in a sigh
"A shame we won't be seeing each other again."
