"Shhh." Juliette said, making Shelby snort as she rolled her eyes, allowing herself to be dragged towards the diner.
"I have been silenced. How rude." Shelby sighed, and Juliette nodded, chuckling as she did. It was funny that Shelby was acting like Juliette ever normally insisted upon her being quiet, because that would be a ridiculous thing to try and lie about.
She encouraged Shelby's speaking.
"I know, I'm the worst."
"Truly." Shelby grumbled as they walked through the doors and almost directly into Dakota, who Juliette wrapped her arms around on instinct.
Well, at least there's no question on if I'd be able to find you or not.
"Hey Kota." She said, feeling Dakota's arms wrap around her too, which was good because it would've been really fucking awkward if she hadn't hugged Juliette back with the same happiness that she had been giving out.
"Hey kiddo." Dakota's hug was hard, and Juliette gasped as she tried to breathe through it... She knew Dakota was probably just as nervous as she was, but was killing her really going to alleviate any of the stress of the day? Sort of felt like it would just add more to it all, but what did she know, right?
"Ow." She breathed, letting Dakota break the hug first... She didn't want to pull the wrong way and have all of her joints dislocated from too much adoration.
"I missed you." She sighed, and Juliette chuckled, shaking her head as she rubbed at her rib, grimacing... it wasn't broken, but she still had every right to be as dramatic as humanly possible right now, because she was really fucking good at that.
"You saw me yesterday, Kota." Juliette reminded her, trying her best to sound like she was even slightly annoyed by the fact that Dakota was holding her like she was the most cherished thing in the entire world. She sighed then, pulling back to give Juliette a kind, warm smile.
"Yeah, and I went three years without seeing you before that, so I celebrate every chance now." Juliette's heart squeezed at that as she nodded. She felt that same way - she'd missed getting to connect with Dakota during those years, and it was good to finally have her back. "In case I ever have to miss out like that again." That made her stomach drop as she shook her head. There was no way that she was ever letting someone get between them like that again, she didn't want to lose her connection to Dakota if she had any say in the matter.
"You won't." She insisted, watching Dakota's eyes crinkle at the corners before she drew Juliette in and kissed her forehead softly.
"Oh! This is Britt. Britt Waters, my partner." She said , beaming with pride as she drew the woman forward. Juliette's eyes widened at how beautiful she really was - a gentle smile, deep brown eyes, and curls tied out of her face. She envied how clear her complexation was, literally she could not see a single acne scar, there was nothing but smooth, tanned brown skin and maybe the hint of faded freckles. Juliette liked the dress she wore - medium length and yellow with a cardigan over her shoulders... She just oozed an air of kindness.
God, her mouth felt dry...
Speak. Be normal.
Juliette smiled, extending her hand out for Britt to shake.
"Hi, Britt... I'm-." Before she could even finish speaking, the woman stepped forward, folding Juliette into her arms easily, as if they had met a million times before. She froze, her hands glued to her own sides as she tried to think of what she was supposed to do.
