Naina's pov.

My legs shake as I grasp the seriousness of the matter. I sit down on the bed before my legs could give out.

If oberoi's got to know that their to-be daughter in law is pregnant with someone else's child they will find her and do god knows what? And for all I know dad would let it happen. He might just kill her with his own hands.

I hide the letter back in my bag. The door of the room slams open and mom walks inside. Her eyes are red due to all the crying. She shuts the door and locks it behind her.

"Tell me where your sister is?" Mom asks.

"I don't know."

"I don't believe you. She always told you everything, just tell me she is somewhere safe." She whisper the last part pleadingly.

"Mom i-"

She walks upto me and holds my arms with both of her hands in a tight grip.

"Did she run away with another man?" She asks.

I look away from her face. If she sees my face she'll know I'm lying. "No."

"Naina, oberoi's are downstairs talking to your father, those men will kill your sister if they find her. Tell me she is far away from here."

I look back at her and she genuinely seems scared for my sister.

"If you knew how dangerous those people are then why did you forced di into marrying that man?"

"It was your father. His life was on line." She said with tears running down her face.

"What does that mean?"

"Your father-"

A loud knock interrupted her words. Knock turns into a bang as dad's loud voice seeps through the thick door.

"Naina, open the damn door."

Mom moves to the door and unlocks it. Dad walks inside, his eyes red in anger, he marches right upto me, rage evident in his heavy steps.

"Where is your sister?" He asks through his hardened jaw.

"I don't know."

He hold my arm in a tight grip and dig his fingers deep in my flesh causing me to wince. It hurt like hell.

"DON'T YOU DARE LIE TO ME."

"Leave her vineet, she does not know where surbhi is." Mom tries to remove his hand from my arm but he does not loose his grip.

"I don't believe it, tell me where she is or I'll drag you with me to find her." He shakes my arm hard enough to rock my body along with it.

"Vineet!" Mom shouts in anger. "Leave her arm for god's sake, you are hurting her." Mom says in a horrified tone while trying to pull his hand away from my arm.

It's like then he realises what he was doing and leaves my arm in a heartbeat. There's a bruise already forming on my arm, a perfect imprint of his fingers.

"I don't know where she is, dad." I say in a meek voice, tears fill my eyes as pain remains where he was grasping my arm before. My father has never put his hands on me like this. He was always so gentle, my brain can't comprehend what just happened.

"Vineet Bhai, they are in the study, let's go and talk to them." Rishi chachu says from the door. He gives me a look of pity before walking away with dad.

Mom walks up to me with guilt in her eyes, her expression softens when she sees the bruise on my arm. "He is just angry, I'll get you something for that." She caressed the bruise gently before moving to the bathroom. She takes a little too long in there so I go see if she's okay.
