Going back home? Had they not moved to Korea permanently? Lena and the boys had, and Lena must have just assumed Hazel would as well. But she wouldn't know. The two had never talked before.
But now that she could see her in person, there was almost no doubt that they were related. Lena bit her lip to keep herself from gasping, and moved a little ways away from the wall she was leaning against. She had to get out of the building before they noticed her. She wasn't ready for this.
Hazel frowned at her friend, and she turned, starting down the walkway and towards Lena. But her eyes landed on Lena, and she froze, her lips parting and her eyes widening. "What-"
Lena, after taking her features in, turned and hurried away from the apartments.
"Hey wait!" Hazel shouted, and Lena could hear the pounding of feet as they raced after her. She held her breath as she ran, trying not to be weighed down by the fact that she was just smoking, and she hurried through the door of the building, pumping her legs as fast as she could and spinning behind a corner, holding her breath so she wouldn't pant.
The apartment door opened and the three girls spilled out. "Where'd she go?" One of them asked.
Hazel brushed the question off. "She looked like me. She looked like me, didn't she?" She asked for clarification, and immediately the others answered. "Do you think... do you think she's... related to me?"
"Didn't you say Rap Monster called you by another name? He thought you were someone else?" One of the girls asked.
Hazel gasped. "You're right! He called me Lena." Lena's heart stopped. Someone knew something she didn't. And who the hell was Rap Monster? "Oh my god, maybe he knows her! Maybe we can ask him to bring me to her."
"I don't know," One of the girls started. "He's kind of awkward, and he doesn't really know how to talk to girls. Like he somehow always ends up embarrassing himself and they never stay around for long. I don't think he's the person-"
"He said I looked like someone he knew." Hazel spat. "He has to know her. Give me his number. Now."
The apartment gate closed, and Lena assumed that they had gone back inside of the building. She made a run for it.
Lena slowed her pace as she approached the cafe. She'd left her bag at the hotel, and had called Ahren to bring it to her. There was a zipcar in the parking lot of the hotel, and she knew he could drive it to bring her the bag, so she didn't sweat leaving it behind.
What she was sweating was how she was going to look when she sat down in front of Namjoon. He was already waiting for her, sitting at the same table he always did outside of the coffee shop, shaded by the umbrella over head, but somehow still looking brighter than the sun.
She started towards him, trying to level her breathing, and hoping she didn't smell too terribly of cigarettes, and sat down. "Hey," She said lightly.
He smiled. "Hey!" He pushed her coffee towards her. "It's so nice out! What are you doing wearing a jacket like that?" He asked, posing with his head propped in one hand as he swirled his coffee around in it's cup.
Lena shrugged simply. "Well, I have work after this,"
"Of course." He said, nodding his head.
"And I just didn't... I mostly have dark clothes so," She shrugged her shoulders. "I'll be dressing in black a lot."
His eyes widened a little. "You only have dark colors?" She nodded. "Why?"
She shrugged her shoulders again. "I don't really know. I just never really wear color."
"I feel like," He shook his head, and Lena urged him to keep talking. He pulled the beanie that he wore over his hair down a little, clearly embarrassed that he'd spoken without thinking. "I think you'd look really pretty in blue."
Lena's heart stopped. "Blue?" She asked, and he nodded shyly. Immediately, Lena tried to make light of it. "Is it because of my hair?" She asked, laughing.
Namjoon looked up and smiled, but shook his head. "No. I just feel like it would bring out the gray in your eyes." Lena's jaw dropped farther than she'd intended it to, but before she had to cover, his phone rang, and he snatched it up. "Sorry, give me just a second." He said, standing and answering the call. He moved a few inches away from the table. "Hello?" He asked, looking down at his shoes.
Lena took a sip of her coffee, smiling at how familiar it tasted. They'd brewed well today. "What? Why?" He asked, and Lena tried to ignore the conversation, but she was a bit of an eavesdropper. "It was an accident. Is she really that offended? I can apologize again." Lena immediately looked up at this. She wasn't jealous, since it wasn't like Namjoon was her boyfriend, but god damn it she was jealous. Who was this she? "No, I can't do that." He said, shaking his head. "Can we talk about this later? I'm with Lena right now, and I don't-" He was cut off, and he rolled his eyes, but Lena bit her lip to try and keep from smiling when he said her name. "I'm hanging up." He said, hanging up the phone and turning back to Lena. "Sorry about that."
"No worries," She said, shrugging her shoulder. She felt a little less jittery now that she was with him, but she still felt a little on her toes. "So, how was your morning?"
Lena pushed the doors to the practice room open and started inside. There were three boys inside, with the choreographer, whom she didn't know. She slowed to a halt, and dropped the bag that Ahren had dropped off for her on the ground. "Hello," She said lightly, and bowing.
The boys all stared at her in surprise, and Jiyoung moved forward. "Hey Lena, I thought that maybe you would have an easier time choreographing if some of the guys helped out." He said, gesturing towards the boys.
Lena smiled. "You must be a part of the band then," She said, starting forward.
Jiyoung placed a hand on one of the boy's shoulders. "This is Hoseok," He said, pulling the boy forward. "He's an incredible dancer."
Hoseok offered a smile, but he seemed unsure of himself. "JHope," He said, reaching a hand towards her. "It's nice to meet you." Lena nodded and shook his hand. "We, uh, figured that maybe if you could visualize more people, it would be easier."
Lena nodded. "I appreciate that."
Jiyoung pointed to the next boy. "This is Jungkook. He's a pretty great dancer too." Jungkook smiled awkwardly, and bowed his head. "And lastly, this is Jimin."
Jimin smiled. "What, I'm not a great dancer?" Jiyoung shrugged his shoulders, and Jimin shook his head, leaning forward and offering his hand to Lena. "It's great to meet you." He said easily.
Lena smiled. "Alright then. Jiyoung gave me a burned copy of the song, so I've been trying to place choreography, but I'm not entirely done. I'd like to see how you guys feel about it before we bring it to the group as a whole." She said, moving towards the stereo.
