you quickly accepted xiao's facetime call, curious to see why he had called you since he rarely ever even texted you first.
"xiao?? why'd you call?" you questioned.
"oh, y/n? sorry, i must've accidentally called you." he answered.
"oh okay, makes sense." you replied.
"yeah..." he paused.
"... actually, do you have the time to talk right now?" he asked.
"yeah, i do. what did you wanna talk about?" you said.
"just... i need your advice on something." he stated.
"oh, im not the best at giving advice but i'll still listen if you want." you replied.
"that's fine. it's gonna be a lot though, is that okay?" he asked.
"yeah, go ahead." you said.
"okay, so there's this person that i know and i'm pretty sure that i like her but i'm not completely sure if i actually do. i've just been thinking about them a lot recently. i mean, we knew each other when we were younger, lost contact, and only recently started to talk again but i'm afraid we're gonna lose contact again with everything going on right now in my life." he rambled.
"... sorry for bothering you with my personal problems." he apologized.
"oh no, it's fine! i actually like seeing this side of you. i never knew you'd be the type to think about all of this." you replied.
he sighed deeply before speaking, "me neither. i have a feeling that they like me back but i'm not completely sure about it. even if they did i don't think i'd be able to tell her because i don't have the confidence to." he continued.
"they're super attractive and somewhat funny too..." he mumbled.
"hm, i mean if you think that she likes you why not just go for it? plus, if you guys recently got back in contact i doubt that they'd wanna cut off contact with you again because of it." you said.
"it's not that we were close when we were younger though so she most definitely could stop talking to me... i don't wanna ruin what we have now after just getting back in contact with them. what if i end up never talking to her again afterwards?" he explained.
"hmm, yeah, i get that. if i was in your situation i'd think the same but what if you confess and they actually end up liking you back? i mean, there was this one time when i had a crush on this super cute guy a long time ago. to this day i still regret not telling him how i felt. i just think back on what could've happened and how everything could've differed if i had told him." you explained.
"i thought of that happening but i'm still not confident." he sighed.
"how sure do you think you are on whether that person likes you or not?" you asked.
"i'd say i'm like 70% sure... i could be wrong though." he admitted.
"70 is pretty high. i say go for it." you said.
he stayed silent for a few seconds, "i'll think about it."
"... is there anybody that you like?" he asked.
"me? actually, i do. i won't tell you who though." you replied.
"can you give me a hint?" he further questioned.
"no, i'm afraid you'll figure out." you stated.
"fair enough." he responded.
"... i really think you should tell them though. if she ends up not liking you back we can go to loopy poopy park to help you get your mind off of it. maybe even cook up some shin ramen together if you're really that sad." you said.
you heard him lightly chuckle at your words. "hopefully it won't come to that." he stated.
"it won't. i mean, who wouldn't like you?" you reassured him.
"you're really just boosting my confidence now." he said.
"good. don't worry, whoever that person is, they'll like you back 100%." you continued.
"okay, thanks for listening to me ramble about my problems." he stated out of appreciation.
"of course, good luck," you replied.
"thanks again." he repeated, before ending the call.
you stared at your phone for a few seconds before sighing and going straight to the "pooiooop" group chat.
