Chapter 4 (Over The Rainbow)

Start from the beginning

He's pulled out of his thoughts when Miscal taps him on the shoulder, the buzz he hears indicative of who it is. “Hm?”

He turns around and is faced with a simple black turtleneck sweater. It's a few shades off from Miscal’s bones with a blue tint and the most acceptable of everything he has shown so far. It's a bit simple, but those have their benefits too. He nods in approval, triumph flashing in Miscal’s face.

He's so easy to read it's ridiculous, though he does have his moments like when Dream first mentioned Swap. In those moments Dream can confidently say that he has no idea what goes through his mind. Miscal heads towards the section with shirts next, Dream frowning slightly as he notices the amount of people there. He'll have to watch out for a bit.

He thinks he sees someone vaguely familiar in the crowd but he's distracted by error holding up a my little pony shirt.

While it would be hilarious to see the intimidating skeleton wear it he'd rather he pick others now. Maybe he'll get matching ones later on though, and distribute them within his friend group. He can already think of three others who would fit in with the characters of his childhood show.

PJ hastily drags his friends out of sight. They'd nearly been caught just now! Thank stars for the black skeleton accidentally helping them. From what he'd observed so far, more than a date it looks like…

“Bro, this just looks like when my mom picks out clothes for me.”

Undyne’s the one to say the rather accurate comparison. PJ can still remember the frustration of picking something that both he and his father would like. It's something alright. It's been rather uneventful so far honestly so PJ is sort of tempted to just leave them be. He can see Comet wants to go back to the food court too judging by the pursed look on his face.

He's never been fond of spying, preferring direct confrontation instead. His parent gives off the same vibe too, honestly.

When he thinks about it, the amount of students he knows that only have one parent is baffling. And a bit sad, really. Not that he cares!

He catches Peppermint sneaking glances at a nearby candy store and decides it's best they just go now. Besides, there's an arcade right beside the candy store. How can he say no to that? He taps Undyne on the shoulder, a smirk on his face as he asks her.

“Want to go for a round?”

The confused look on Undyne’s face turns into a mirroring smirk immediately. “You're on!” PJ is physically dragged to the arcade. He sees Peppermint dragging Comet towards the candy store in the edge of his vision.

It's really a wonder how the candy obsessed skeleton has kept his teeth looking like that with the amount of candy he eats. He supposes it's a family secret, considering his father eats the same amount if not more and can maintain his teeth just as well.

He feels like they're forgetting something, but oh well.

(Catty groans in frustration as none of them responds, giving Bratty a helpless look. What are they even supposed to do with all this food!?)

Miscal doesn't even want to know how long that took. He and Dream walk out of the third shop with three sweaters, five shirts, four pants, one short and three pairs of socks total from all the stores. So much for only two shirts. At least he knows how much they all cost so he just has to make a note of the amount later.

“Let's get shoes next!”

We’rE g-g-gOinG fOr MoRe!?

The smile on Dream's face looks positively demonic. “Of course we are! We can't do this half heartedly, right? You can't keep going around in your sandals!”
