Why Me? (Older Hiccup and Reader)

Chapter 49

"Okay, show me what you got." I say. he mounts on his dragon and has a bow in hand. I throw some surprise barrels in the air. He hits them near the center. At the designated targets he does the same, near the center, while his dragon does the same with it's shot.

When they landed I gave a smile.

"Good job newbie. What's your dragon's name again?" I ask.

"Oh, it's FangHook, and I'd like to ask if your free after this?" He asks in a flirty tone And there's the thing I was expecting.

"No, cause we'll be training till midnight. And second, flirt again, and I'll throw in the pit of Night Terrors. I'll warn you, me and those night Terrors have a special connection, so I wouldn't mess with me." I say giving a victory smirk. He cowers  a bit and then gives a knowing nod. 

"Okay, do it again." I say referring to the sharp shooting again. 

I keep him sharp shooting for several more hours till it's about 10 in the morning. 

He got better time after time. I gave him a few tips when he messed up and I saw (d/n) 'talking' to FangHook about his mess ups as well. 

"Okay, next we'll do is combat in the ground. (d/n), train with FangHook, me and you, Gustav, will go one on one at first then move to weapon." I announce. 

(d/n) takes FangHook farther from us while we take our battle stances. I show him some pointers before hand. I throw a punch and he dodges quickly.

"Good." I comment. I take my stance once more and throw a kick at his left side and he blocks it and swing his elbow around and hits me in the chest.

We do a few more, and we did a few real round. I won all of them, but he did good. He was slow with some parts. We'll work with those parts he's struggling with tomorrow, right after our lesson about responsibility. 

Its about 11 now. 

"Alright that's enough for the day. Now lets move on to more of a lesson sort of of what you'l do everyday before you come here. You'll first clean FangHook's stable everyday your here, you'll give him a good wash once every week. And if you do all those things before having to be here at 10, you'll be good. But if your late, I have a punishment. Even a minute late, you'll have a punishment. I've heard a lot about you Gustav, and I was not impressed. But what you showed me today and what you'll show me in do time, will change my mind." I say.

"Oh, you did. He, well, uh, yea I've got nothing. It's just I really want to be able to be the best Dragon rider ever. But, they never give me chance to show myself. Yes I know I'm hard to handle, but if they would give me some time, then I might be able to show them I'm ready." Gustav says.

"Well, Gustav, what you've shown me today, shows me that you've been practicing by your self haven't you?" I ask.

'Yea." He answers.

"Well, if you keep that up you'll be better. But I think they don't have a problem with your fighting skills, just your daydreaming habit, and your irresponsible behavior. I had to slap you a few times to get you to pay attention. Either way, I have faith in you." I say placing y hand on his shoulder. He looks up at me and gives me a hug. It take me by surprise, but I hug him back. 

When we part I give a threat.

"But I'm serious, pay attention or I have my little Night Terrors on you, they'll be watching yo and reporting back to me if you are doing what I told you to do. And no more flirting with girls that are taken. Alright? I have Hiccup and Astrid has Fishlegs. Ruff nut is free though." I say.

He gives off a disgusted face at the mention of Ruffnut. I send him off back to where he's staying and head over to see how Hiccup was.

"Hey Hiccup." I say.

"Oh, hey (y/n), I saw you and Gustav training, how's it going with him?" He asks.

"Its actually going well. Just needs a few threats at the right things." I say. 

"Okay, what did you threaten him with?" He asked.

"The Night Terrors, if he didn't stop flirting with me, or not paying attention, I'd give him to the Night Terrors." I say sitting on the fireplace. I could see Hiccup stiffen at the sound of Gustav flirting with me.

"Don't worry Hiccup, I have you and that's all I need." I say getting up and kissing him on the cheek. I relaxes and goes back to drawing in his journal. While he does that I sit on the edge of his hut and look at the moon. Its a crescent tonight, my favorite. We talked while we both just did what we was doing. 

Hiccup's POV

Me and (y/n) talked while I just made a dew notes on the riddle we have to figure out. When I finally got tired of it, i put it up and turned to see (y/n) sitting on the edge of my hut staring off into the distance. The moon's light was showing off her beautiful features. 

I don't know what came over me but I walked over to her and sat beside her and bring her in to my lap kissing her.

I felt her stiffen at first, but soon melt into the kiss. I wrapped my arms around her waist and pulled her close to me like she was about disappear. Her hands found their way to my mess  of hair and tugged gentle a few times. 

When we part I just stare off into her (e/c) orbs that was staring off into my green ones. 

"Love you." I say kissing her nose. I saw her scrunch up. I gave out a chuckle cause I love her reaction to my nose kisses. 

"Love you too Hic." She says kissing my forehead.
