Startled, Deleine looked up as Cassia handed the note to her. "I'm sure it's from those prats," Cassia muttered, glancing over at the twins, who were laughing mischievously.

Deleine sighed, unfolding the piece of paper. "'Why so glum, Chang?'" she read aloud, spotting the small '—W' scrawled at the bottom, indicating it was from one of the twins. She scoffed, rolling her eyes as she quietly mocked the note under her breath. Cassia watched her with an amused smile.

Deleine sighed, setting the note aside and returning to her food. Moments later, another paper plane swooped through the air, landing neatly in front of her. She picked it up and unfolded it, Cassia leaning in eagerly in front of her.

"'Do you like fireworks?'" Deleine read aloud, noting the familiar '—W' at the end. She glanced at Cassia, who looked puzzled and shrugged in response.

Deleine's gaze shifted to George and Fred, who were grinning playfully from their table. George mouthed, "Do you?"

Deleine mouthed back with a lackluster expression, "Sure," before turning her attention elsewhere.

Cassia peeked back at the boys, who continued to smirk. As George and Fred stood up and began making their way over, Cassia's voice took on a teasing tone. "Uh oh."

"What's up?" Deleine asked, her eyes still fixed on her plate.

"They're coming over here," Cassia said, a knowing glint in her eye. "Your boyfriend."

Deleine's head snapped up as the boys approached. Fred slid into the seat beside Cassia with a casual grin, while George sat down on the bench next to Deleine, facing her.

"What are you doing over here?" Deleine asked George directly.

"Well, you didn't exactly give me a clear answer," he shrugged nonchalantly.

"I said sure," Deleine replied, her tone flat. George raised an eyebrow, clearly unimpressed. "Fine then. Yes. I'm sure everyone likes fireworks."

"Good, then. Do you like surprises?" George asked, his eyes twinkling.

Deleine shook her head firmly, and George glanced over at Cassia, who nodded in agreement, confirming Deleine's aversion to surprises.

"Could've told you that," Fred chimed in, eyeing Deleine with a knowing smirk. She squinted at him, mimicking his expression before turning her attention back to George.

"Why'd you ask?" Deleine inquired, her curiosity piqued.

George simply shrugged, leaving her to assume it was just idle curiosity, so she returned to her meal.

But just a few seconds later, a loud pop echoed through the Great Hall, startling everyone—students, guests, and even the professors. Deleine jumped beside George, her eyes wide as she watched the harmless firework fizzle down. "George... Fred? What've you done?" she asked, her tone cautious.

"Don't worry, it's harmless," Fred assured her with a casual shrug, while Cassia grinned, clearly in on the joke as another firework crackled overhead. Deleine eyed the twins warily as they stood up in perfect sync.

George extended his hand to her, looking down with an expectant smile. Deleine shook her head, refusing to play along, but George took matters into his own hands, grabbing her by the hand and practically pulling her to her feet.

"George—" she began to protest, but he was already leading her closer to the ongoing fireworks. "George. George," she continued, a small squeak escaping her lips as another firework exploded with a pop.
