Springtrap. The thoughts of him from last night began reappearing in your mind before getting shooed away by a chuckle through the phone.

"So, you've decided to start calling it by that name as well," Adam said, as though it was a question.

You made a 'hm' noise, confused about what he was talking about.

"You called the animatronic 'Springtrap'. Like the other guys," Adam explained.

"Oh, yeah. It's just easier I guess than constantly referring to him as 'the suit' or something. Why do you mention it?"

"No reason. I just find it odd how so many people seem to suddenly start humanizing the thing. It's interesting. Even you went from referring to the suit as 'it' to 'him'."

Shit, have you really?

You hadn't noticed but did it really matter? Humanizing inanimate objects is relatively normal for people to do and, for a situation like Springtrap, it just makes sense that you were humanizing something that was once human. It just felt odd to you since, throughout your entire time at university, you had never referred to any of the robots you built as anything other than 'it'.

"You still there, dude?"

You stuttered out a reply to Adam, apologizing for getting lost in thought.

"I guess I didn't notice myself doing that," you added.

"No need to feel bent about it. I just thought it was funny," a moment passed where neither of you spoke before Adam eventually let out a breath. "Guess I should let you get off here so you can get some rest this weekend. Now that I think about it, are you doing anything this weekend?"

Truthfully, you had planned to spend the weekend sitting around and possibly tinkering with the bit of robotic supplies you had lying around your place. You didn't have any set plans but you knew where his question would lead. If you said honestly then he was going to invite you out to do something and you would feel inclined to go along with it since he was your boss. You could lie and say you were busy but that felt wrong and, besides, you didn't want to make the relationship between the two of you awkward by making it seem like you were avoiding him.

In the end, you decided to not answer but gently redirect the question. Luckily, you had remembered something that Springtrap had wanted you to look into so you weren't exactly lying to him.

"Actually, I was planning on calling you at some point to see if you had anything on the servos or programming software that the Fazbear animatronics use. I'm sure I could figure them out if I took a look at them but I'd rather go in with an initial understanding before I go messing with things."

"Ah, right," he replied, sounding disappointed. "I think I have some old service manuals sitting around somewhere here at home. I'll look around and swing by to put them in the desk drawer where those tapes were so you can look at them Monday night."

"That would be amazing," you said, smiling. "Thanks, Adam."

"It's no problem. I'm here to help you whenever you need it."

With that, he hung up after saying goodbye and wishing you a nice weekend. You were, once again, left alone with only your thoughts to keep you company. Springtrap's image came to mind when you were trying to figure out what you possibly wanted to create.

He does still have that missing ear. I think I have some scrap metal and wiring hiding somewhere. I could make a piece to replace it.

Unable to go back to sleep, you stood and stretched before moving into the room that you had dedicated to your drawn up plans and materials.
