His hands dropped to his sides and I felt like jumping into his arms.

He was wearing a thin dark blue t-shirt. It wasn't tight but it highlighted his masculine chest just too well.

His biceps were huge, a vein popping on his fairly smooth skin and I felt my blush growing.

"Thank you for helping me bring Oliver and Hazel together." I thought bringing up something else would help but he leaned down to my eye level.

"Shouldn't I get a reward?" His voice was low and husky, goosebumps rising all over my arms despite the warm weather.

I stared into his eyes for five seconds but quickly looked away when I couldn't hold his gaze.

"Beautiful?" His thumb caressed my chin, slowly angling my face towards him. I couldn't help but blush.

He was silent for a few seconds, his eyes swiftly darting over my body before he looked away, his ears reddening.

He stood back while rubbing the back of his neck with his left hand while avoiding my eyes.

I was wearing a short yellow thin strapped dress that reached mid thigh. It wasn't my usual style but it was suitable for this setting.

"Are you opposed to walking around?" I suggested this to cut off the silence between us, Lorenzo quickly agreeing.

We walked by the shore, Lorenzo holding both of our shoes since I wanted to feel the sand on my bare feet.

They were very many people around us so I didn't feel self conscious about myself. I was the type of girl who felt like everyone was staring at them in public.

Everytime we'd encounter a group of guys, Lorenzo would walk so close to me like he was shielding me from their eyes.

I was so appreciative of this simple gesture thus I stuck to his side all the way.

He narrated to me how he'd tried to convince Oliver all morning and I couldn't hold back from laughing.

He had at first lied about a sick friend and since Oliver was so empathetic, he fell for that.

Then driving here, he'd lied that his brother had injured his leg while surfing.

His lies weren't consistent so I still wondered how Oliver had listened to all that. Maybe because Lorenzo didn't seem like the type to lie.

"You never lied to your parents when you were younger?" He nodded his head and I just gaped at him.

Who had never? Sometimes Orion and I would even come up with a lie to trick Luce into giving us money.

"Then you must be a good boy," I patted his back, a small laugh escaping me when he smiled.

We resumed walking in silence before a man suddenly shouted Enzo's name in front of us.

He was quite tall with dark hair and was wearing a loose white shirt and black shorts. He called Enzo again, this time waving at us.

"Reece," I heard Enzo mutter under his breath and I turned to the man who was now before us.

Beside him was a woman. She was almost his age and looking closer, I noticed that she had a small baby bump.

The woman stared at me and I turned to Lorenzo, feeling awkward.

"It's been a while man." The men exchanged a brotherly hug and Lorenzo greeted the lady as well.

"I almost didn't recognize you smiling," the man slightly shoved Enzo's shoulder and I looked at the woman again.

She stared at me, her gaze lifting to my hair and her eyes seemed to widen as she turned to the man beside her.

"You must be-" they began at the same time but Enzo cut them short before they finished speaking.

"This is Lilith," Enzo introduced me to Reece and Clarissa, whom he revealed that they were husband and wife.

"Nice to meet you," I shook hands with them after Enzo had revealed that they were his close friends.

"The pleasure is ours," Clarissa smiled at me, her husband whispering, "We finally meet her."

They seemed to be friendly people since they asked me a few things about myself.

It wasn't in a pressurizing manner but from their questions, it seemed like they knew me from before.

I was only meeting them for the first time so there was no way they knew me unless Lorenzo had told them about me.

Enzo didn't meet my eyes when I looked at him. Butterflies grew in my stomach when I realized he'd really told them about me.

"Where were you guys headed to?" Reece asked Lorenzo who in turn looked at me.

"We were just walking around," I replied after Lorenzo went quiet.

"Would you mind us joining you?" Clarissa asked in a friendly smile and I agreed to her request, her husband beaming when I gave in.

"I love your dress, butterfly." Clarissa complimented me and I thanked her, though feeling a bit confused.

Butterfly?

I saw her exchange eyes with her husband before they both turned to Lorenzo.
