The whiteboards are handed out and you're stumped on who to choose. You only knew a few people; Midoriya, Bakugo, Iida, and Uraraka. Yaoyorozu was the only other name you could really remember or even see being the class representative. You definitely weren't the type to lead, so you may as well be productive with this. You try not to think about it too much when you write the name down and hand in the whiteboard.

Midoriya is taken aback by the results; he's designated and Yaoyorozu is the deputy. Bakugo has a tantrum about it. You want to smack his head into his desk to get him to shut up but remain in your seat, face unchanging except for a twitch in your eye. You spot Iida swooning for receiving a vote. It seems to reassure him despite not being picked for the position. You try to hide your smile; you figured he would've voted for Midoriya but Iida was the one you thought best fit the role. Aizawa declared the standings and silenced Bakugo before continuing with class.

When he dismisses you for lunch, your peers rise from their seats and collect into their newly established groups. You don't move, still lost outside the window. The weather was nice today, sunny with some puffy white clouds drifting through the sky. A gentle breeze rushed them along, one that would tousle your hair. A distant voice snaps you out of your moment of disassociation.

"Do you want to join us for lunch, Hokama?"

Bellflower-toned eyes met with emeralds. "Sure." Your voice came out robotically and monotone, but none of them seemed to notice.

You drift behind Midoriya, Uraraka, and Iida as they lead the way to the cafeteria. You didn't pay any mind to their conversation, wishing you could do something besides focus on your missing sister. This was stressing you out immensely; the world was difficult right now. Being thrown into a new public school where you were supposed to exceed your parents expectations and follow in your older sister's footsteps? Only for her to vanish without a word? How were you supposed to handle that? Where was she? Was she dead? You wished you could track her phone. You want to ask Togata, Tamaki, and Hado if they know anything about what happened to Mizuki, but they didn't have the same lunch as you.

You waited in line with your acquaintances even if you didn't have an appetite. You knew that it was better to eat than not, so you helped yourself to small portions to pass you by. The group is forced to sit at a table with some other students but you don't mind. You sit next to Midoriya on the inside. You can't help but pick at the food on your plate until he speaks to you.

"How is the puppy, Hokama?"

You look up at him. "Puppy? Oh, right. She's doing good."

"Was your sister happy to see her?" He inquires.

You do your best to not shrink under the three sets of eyes staring into you. Giving them an answer was tricky. You didn't want to lie, but you didn't feel comfortable telling them the truth. Lying was better than giving them incentive to probe into your personal life. "Yeah, she was ecstatic."

"Aww, I love puppies." Uraraka gushes. "I've always wanted one but my parents could never afford it."

"Same with mine." Midoriya adds on with a gentle smile. "I wonder if the dorms allow pets?"

"My guess is they only allow service animals." Iida notes after swallowing his food.

"That would make sense..."

You return to your food, not noticing who replied to him. It didn't take long for the conversation to swing Iidas way, and they began talking about his family. You aren't surprised to discover that he's the younger brother of Ingenium—you didn't pinpoint it earlier but that doesn't matter. It was only common sense that the progeny of hero families would attend the best university in all of Japan. Top Heroes graduated from here.
