Shinso just chuckled as he left.
With a sigh I closed the door. I knew now that Laura had keys to everywhere. I didn't think that was really amusing.
It felt uneasy.
Wrong.

I reached for the teddy bear on the ground and put it on the bed.
At least Shinso wasn't bad...

The very next day I found Laura before I could find the coffee machine.
"Here's your school uniform, make sure to be ready before eight. And brush your hair!"

I took the uniform with shaking hands and nodded.

"Why are your hands all bloody?" Laura said suddenly a bit concerned.
I just turned and left to put on the uniform. Washing my hands still left the wounds, maybe I should bandage them? Either way, the wounds shouldn't be as visible as they appear entry were.

I exited my room once more and walked passed the kitchen. Shinso was helping a kid tie her shoes while she kicked them off again. It was funny to see Shinso struggle, so I just walked passed, reaching the small breakfast assortment on the table.

"You forgot the tie," Shinso said annoyedly.

"Me?" I wondered, "No I just didn't put it on, that's different."

Shinso sighed, "You're going to get detention on your first day aren't you?"

"That's my goal," I shrugged, "What kinda school is it?"

"A school with a lot of rules," Shinso said before he finished tying the second shoe and pulled the kid up. The child ran away to her friends and Shinso grabbed some breakfast for himself, "Rules, and more rules. People suck over there, but the UA entrance exam is close."

The UA entrance exam?

"How do you mean?" I said confused, "Do you want to become a hero?"

Shinso shyly nodded, "I just want to prove everyone wrong. My quirk can be useful, I think."

"Right," I simply said, "I'm rooting for you."

"What," Shinso gave me a look, "You've got anything against heroes?"

No, just the fact that a quirkless kid could become a vigilante. It was fucked up how society didn't let them become heroes. I might as well have become a villain here!

"No," I sighed, "It's a childish dream, that's all."

"I don't know who hurt you," Shinso said plainly, "But I'm sure you can become a hero."

"If I'd want that I would become one," I nodded, "But I don't, not anymore."

"Then what do you want to be?"

So here's the thing.
I could say 'your mom'. But I could also be polite. I was in an orphanage and it would most definitely be hurtful if I said it.
"Your mom."

"...dude."

At school Shinso had a lovely spot at the back of the class. I sat down next to him, and he started pointing out people he disliked.
"That kid usually beats people up."

"Does he beat you up?" I asked casually.

"Sometimes."

"Okay." I said simply, wondering about killing people.

"That kid is a total pervert."

"Okay," I thought of more ways to kill people.

"That kid—"

Class begun and the teacher told me to introduce myself.

I smiled and got up.
"Hello, I'm (y/n). My favourite hobby is gorging out people's eyeballs. Have a nice day."
I sat back down and the teacher hesitantly cleared her throat.

"Well... she's a late bloomer, so don't force her to use her quirk to much." The teacher said.

Great. Just spill that tea won't you! I will definitely get bullied now.

"What is her quirk?" Someone asked.

"A cat quirk!" The teacher said with a warm and excited smile.

I was already hating it here.

When the day ended Shinso and me walked home.

"That wasn't that bad, was it?" He said, "You didn't get in any trouble."

"You do realise that when the teacher spoke with me at lunch," I cleared my throat, "I... I got detention for not wearing the tie."

"Oh..." Shinso sighed, "Guess you're doomed then."

"Hey, at least I got to look cool," I reasoned jokingly.

"Yeah... I suppose so," Shinso reached out to pet my hair. With a slight shove he nearly fell over.

We both ended up laughing and I wondered wether I was starting to become friends with him. Nah. I never really had friends. What was changing that now?
