Nothing suspicious, just a random cat, looking for attention!
Some people beckoned me over, but I ignored them. I listened in to the conversations while I occasionally got a hand which ruffled my fur.
It was weird, but I decided to ignore it. It was better than getting stabbed.
Someone put down a bowl of water for me and I tried drinking. It was hard, but Nezu had told me to practice, so I did.The night ended and I found my clothes in an alley. After changing back I grinned, the info I had gathered on my mind. A few days of being patient. I could do that! Or maybe I couldn't wait until they would struck that deal...
My slight doubts were justified.
—
Days passed while I tried not to act like my quirk wanted me to. I mean, what else could explain my constant panic and frustration, and sadness and anxiety?
Thanks to Shinso the window never stayed locked for long, and Laura didn't often have to question where I was.
I managed school alongside being gone for hours at night, being a vigilante. These peaceful, wonderfully manageable days though, quickly came to an end, not even having reached a full week before trouble struck.
Someone looked around the orphanage. I sat playing with random apps on Shinso's phone. There was a lot I had to learn about phones if I were to ever get one myself.
"Can I help you?" Shinso asked the person who looked at the small kids with adoring eyes.
I glanced up before turning back to flappy bird. Love that game so far— oh I'm dead again. Poor bird died.
"Oh, just looking for someone to adopt. What's your name?"
Shinso smiled kindly. "I'm Shinso Hitoshi, nice to meet you, I'll show you around."
I was too engrossed in my game to notice Shinso bonding until a few days later Shinso packed his bags.
"You're leaving?" I said sadly.
"I am!" Shinso said cheerfully, "Finally! I thought I'd be stuck here until eighteen! But I guess I'm really lucky!"
Well now I felt shitty for feeling annoyed at him for leaving and all that...
"I'm happy for you," I smiled suddenly.
Then I forced my smile to drop again, giving him a sad look. "I'm gonna miss your phone."Shinso burst out laughing as I forced a smile. I shouldn't be sad.
I shouldn't be panicking over the fact that he would leave and wouldn't be able to push me through my struggles with ease anymore. That night I beat up some villains. I knew I was overreacting, I mean, sure the only person who was there for me no matter what was leaving, but—
I sighed and sat down somewhere. My mask hid my scowl and I felt the need to hiss at something.
The night brought nothing but annoyances.
I looked down at my shoes, hearing someone walk over to me. I recognised them, realising the way he walked was very stealthy, I could smell the coffee from where I sat."Kid, it's late," someone spoke behind me.
I waved them off.
Aizawa ignored my gesture and went to sit down next to me, mimicking my legs as they dangled to the ground far below.
"Did you hurt anyone?""No... just a bit."
With a sigh Aizawa shook his head.
"They were villains, and I scared them off." I reasoned with a grumble. I wanted to hiss at Aizawa, to jump off of the rooftop and to stay lying out te ground far below forever.
Anything to keep me from having to deal with my own shit muself!
I didn't want to here overwhelmed anymore! Is that too much to ask? Clearly, since Shinso left and now I can't keep it together and I just want to yeet and—The thought made me lean away from the depths below.
"As long as you don't get hurt," Aizawa sighed and looked down. "You like heights?"
"What's it to you?" I asked grumpily, pulling my feet away from the edge just to be sure. Just to be sure.
My heart rate was going fast as I got up and stepped back. "I should be going.""You better be going home." Aizawa didn't notice the racing of my heart, the way the world seemed overly bright while adrenaline shot through me needlessly.
"N-no," I stuttered, "I mean, not yet."
"Something the matter?"
"Suicide," I said too quickly, "You're too close to he edge, please just step back."
Aizawa looked surprised to say the least. He got up and stepped back. "There. That better?"
I nodded. "Thank you." With that I quickly turned around.
"Where are you going?"
Frustration filled me once more as I glared at Aizawa from behind my mask, "To beat up some fucking villains."
Aizawa let me go and I found myself in one of the abandoned buildings. I listened in as a cat before I turned back and caught them in a trap they had set up for a hero.
Before I left I looked around a bit. The building had a locked door. I opened it using my claws, the lock fortunately was weak. I opened it and looked inside.
"What the..." there were bags of powder.
Guess what kind of powder.
"Crap," I sighed before I turned around. "What kinda drugs is this?"
The villains, trapped under a bunch of crates, looked at me.
Some were uncouncious, others were hurt, but I couldn't care less. It was funny to have them step in their own trap!"Cocaine, get away from it kid." One of the villains said.
"Mh..." I thought, "I think you're lying, what is this shit really?"
"Get away from that!" Someone called out and I stepped back cautiously. That did not come from the trapped villains.
Someone ran into the warehouse. I stepped away from their quick attack and cautiously looked at their next move.
Who was this?
Some random hero? They tried to attack me again but I dodged once more.
"Come on, you gotta try harder than that," I chuckled before running passed them and finding the exit.
I hid behind the door and watched the hero run passed. They looked around before running back inside, calling for backup and a missing vigilante.Trying not to snicker I hurried away from the area. The heroes would get rid of this batch. But it meant there was more work for me to do. Was there more than one supplier? How hadn't I heard of this getting brought in? Was I a bad spy? No doubt I was a bad spy—
This was getting more and more complicated! I had to be more... vigilant!
I hurried back to the orphanage, my legs about to give out from walking and my wrists hurting from punching random people— not random, I reminded myself, villains. I wanted to take a nap before school would start.
While I walked I got the feeling I was being watched. How odd. Maybe this was the point where I went mad?
