30: Aizawa's Idea

Start from the beginning

Aizawa shut everyone up with just one look before the teams appeared on a screen.

I found my name underneath those who would run off.
Looking at the grounds now, I grinned. It would be perfect to just run along the factory like grounds. It was like a playground!

"And don't underestimate her," Aizawa said before a timer started. Chaos broke lose as people started running. There was no count down, just a 'start'. I glanced at Aizawa, wondering wether I could really go. He nodded.

I was free!

Someone ran up to me, thinking they got a quick target.

I dodged with ease, jumping on the low fence behind us and jumping to the ground below.

"Shit—" Aizawa said, knowing the fall was too far not to get hurt. I knew as well, I wasn't stupid. I clutched a chain and swung to the ground with ease. "Be careful!" Aizawa called out after me.

I looked back, sticking out my tongue at him. I would do as I pleased!

The game of tag took a while. I sat down on a roof, waiting for someone to find me. Nobody really did, so I walked up to a crane. I looked up, wondering if it would work.

Of course I couldn't not try.
Up in the crane I started trying to push random buttons. Suddenly it moved and my eyes widened. I honestly didn't spend a lot of time in the crane, it wasn't that spectacular. I destroyed a few buildings, and I tried to put some attention me and my location.

Only three people saw the danger somehow, and when I climbed back out, I got to greet them.

I huffed. "You heroes are shitty."

Someone disappeared from my sight, the blonde one. I dodged a squid arm (?) and stepped away from a ray of circles (?) these quirks were something to describe.

Behind me someone appeared. I dodged a punch (and also getting tagged), using the yellow crane I stood next to to jump, put my legs to it and eventually jump over the blonde guy. He prepared for an attack from behind, but I wasn't about to get tagged and turned to run instead.

I just ran, waiting for them to chase me. One could phase through walls, apparently the floor too. One had the circle ray, the other could have animal body parts, like octopus arms. I liked octopi, so that was cool.

What a fun challenge!
I jumped onto a new building and dodged a random side character. One kick in their face send them gone from me and I landed on a thin pillar, barely balancing. That's when I let out my tail, balancing with much more ease.

"Holly— she's a cat! Look! Look!" The blue haired girl said.

"Focus!" Tamaki said, "If I can't go home, at least let's have this over with."

I looked at them as they looked up at me. The two discussed a plan in a hushed tone and I waited.

Suddenly I glanced behind me to find the blonde guy jumping over to me.

My eyes widened as I jumped back, his hand nearly grazing my leg. I forced myself in half a spin, catching the chain attached to the pillar. Of course I swung to the ground like I was on a playground, like just look at this and tell me it doesn't scream let's play a game.

I caught the other two off guard, kicking the light blue haired student in her middle, knocking her over with ease.

I landed, feeling the ground under my feet, and started running.

The three chased me quickly. I had to get some higher ground, otherwise I was cooked!

More students started trying to catch me. Maybe there were very few students to tag left, but it became more and more challenging. All the while I came up with funny tricks. Too many times did I take them off guard by doing something stupid. Eventually a buzzer went off and Aizawa's lame voice came through the speakers.

"Nobody managed to catch (y/n), her team wins."

"What!?" Someone called out, "That's bullshit!"

I grinned as I looked down at them from where I stood, "You guys are slow! I won!"

Everyone returned to Aizawa and we waited to start anew, this time with switched places. I was determined to win again and waited for the start sign. This was so fun!

"Now."

I shot towards some people with annoying quirks and tagged them as quickly as I could.

With speed I jumped off the fence again. Aizawa tried to tell me to stop, but I was already gone, having jumped on a piece of steel sticking out of a building.

I chased after some people. Thanks to the tricks I came up with before I could gain more speed. Some students were tired after the first round, so that was only better.

And then it came. The three! I ran up to the blonde one first. He dodged my punch and phased through a wall.
Tamaki (the only name I knew so far) tried to attack, but I jumped away from the octopus arm just in time.

Light blue hair threw her quirk at me, forcing me to get back.

The three ran and I stuck to the shadows.

I could hear them.

"Do you think she gave up? I mean, she doesn't look like someone who gives up easily. Then again she's Aizawa's kid, do you think she would be like him?"

"We better keep running. We should split up."

"I just wanna go home."

I got ahead of them and found a chain I jumped down and tagged the first one. "Gotcha!"

Light blue hair loudly complained as the other two split up, running from me.

I broke into a run. Blonde guy tried to phase though a wall, but I found a gap. I turned into a cat and slipped through, pouncing onto the student's leg and tagging him.

"Wha—" the student said confused as I licked my nose.

I turned back, my clothes left behind, but I was wearing the suit.
The student I just tagged gave me wide eyes as I climbed up to a second floor and ran to where Tamaki had disappeared off to.
My target, Tamaki. He seemed very nervous, not very motivated. He should be easy prey.

I jumped behind him. He immediately noticed and jumped back. He tried to turn around into a run, but I jumped. Mid air I turned into a cat, nearly managing to tag him. I missed by an inch!

I landed on my human feet and hissed at the concrete I landed on. "Crap I should get nanotech shoes!"

I ran anyway, knowing I had to win this.

Tamaki found me catching up. I was fast because of the training I had gotten, including the years of patrolling.
Knowing he had no other choice, Tamaki turned around for a fight.
As long as I didn't tag him he could fight me off.

He tried to punch me using a octopus arm (or was it squid?). I tried to tag his arm, but he deactivated his quirk, making the arm disappear with speed.

I tried to tag him, but he dodged, he tried to attack, but I dodged. The fight continued. I was amazed by how quick Tamaki really was. He seemed to know what he was doing!
Suddenly a buzzer went off and I paused.

"Shit!" I called out, "I lost!"

Tamaki froze as Aizawa's voice sounded.

"Tamaki hasn't been tagged yet, his team wins."

I gave him a grin. "We should have a rematch sometime!"

Tamaki stood frozen. Was he shaking? Oh he looked scared... my cat nose could smell the anxiety and I honestly didn't like it.

Fortunately his friends came to save him and congratulated him. It didn't help much, but at least Tamaki's nervousness wasn't my fault now.

The class gathered again. Everyone chatted about the exercise excitedly and I walked up to Aizawa, glaring at the ground, my ears flat against my head. My clothes dragged behind me as I held them sloppily.
"If I go along with your idea," I said, "I don't want to wear the uniform."

"You're gonna have to wear the uniform," Aizawa sighed, "I'm not gonna fight Nezu over that."

"Sad, worth a try though."
