Omega Level Threat

Chara grunted as they stepped back to narrowly avoid the sweep of a blade wielded by one of the Dog Monster Shadows. They retaliated by summoning a vine beneath its feet and tripping it up. From there, all it took was a simple knife to the head to kill it. They wanted to take a moment to catch their breath but were forced to swing their knife at a different shadow immediately after.

They were stationed on the town's border. They and Sans had immediately turned around the moment they saw the ball of slime in the distance and were since separated. Chara did their best to stop the husks from getting past but in the time it took them to kill one Shadow, dozens more ran into the town.

Chara understood that the others, most of which could effortlessly take out multiple enemies at once, were helping but that just made them more frustrated. They felt like they were barely contributing to the fight. They felt useless and they hated it.

Sacrificing a precious second, Chara stopped moving and focused on their Determination and forced it to manifest as a swarm of glowing red knives. With just one swing of their arm, they made the magical blades scatter and impale multiple shadows at once. It barely made a dent in the army of thousands

'Damn it.' They silently cursed, 'If those stupid humans hadn't shown up and taken Core and the others away, none of this would be happening.'

Suddenly, Chara felt a sharp pain across their cheek.

They watched as a knife streaked past them only to stop in between the fingers of a Sans who wasn't in front of them a second ago.

Chara stared at the familiar figure with eye sockets as dark as the Void. They slowly reached for their cheek and touched the wound. They brought their fingers to their face and watched the blood slowly dribble down.

Killer chuckled, "The sight of you bleeding will never get old."

He tossed his knife into the air, letting it spin for a moment before he grabbed it by its handle. The skeleton pointed his weapon at Chara and asked, "Why don't we finish our last dance, partner?"

Chara's eyes narrowed. They don't give the Shadows, which were suddenly leaving them alone, any attention. They simply raised their own knife and pointed it at Killer along with the half a dozen magic knives that they summoned.

"With pleasure."

Across the town, another human was having far more fun than Chara was.

"So many unique souls here! It's like a magical all-you-can-eat buffet!"

Betty laughed as she danced after the crowd of screaming Monsters. Pale pink harpoons shot out of her body from seemingly no specific area. Hands, limbs, torso, legs, the harpoons didn't have any obvious exit, just a surface of Betty's body. They didn't appear to damage her clothes.

The sharp pink lines pierced through the bodies of Monsters like spears going through paper and then reeled in the newly captured souls like a fishing rod. Some tried to fight back but it was in vain. They just became extra food for the Soul of Fear.

"Oh, this is just too easy!" Betê Noire laughed, "I thought this place was supposed to be full of Frisks and Charas. So where are all the Determination Souls that are supposed to stop me!?"

Suddenly, a Gaster Blaster of all things manifested in front of her.

But... since when did Blasters have four eyes?

Energy began to build up in its mouth and Betty recognised that she only had mere seconds to counter. She pulled back all of the harpoons and placed her arms in front of herself. Hot pink goo shot out and moved to form a protective barrier between her and the blast.
