Saphira smiled at him with a reassuring expression. "And I can tell you that you have done a good job, Optimus. I didn't even know that happened at all. All I remember was seeing your spark...it was beautiful..." Optimus hummed softly as he was glad to know that. "I don't think I will ever forget it. It was...no words can describe it, honestly. It was just too amazing."
He leaned in to kiss the side of her forehead gently, making Saphira blush upon feeling the contact. "I will not forget it either. Aside from seeing how your body reacted to the bonding, I was feeling euphoria as well. It was a feeling that we will only experience once, but forgetting it is impossible."
Saphira couldn't disagree with that at all. Especially with how amazing the experience was. She was glad that Optimus felt a great sense of joy when he bonded with her. Euphoria was definitely the word she would use as well, but in general, there was absolutely no words to describe how the bonding felt for her. That was how good it was to her. She still could not believe it as well.
Optimus kissed the side of her forehead again and gently placed a hand on her stomach, making her looked at him in surprise. "And I know they our sparkling is healthy. I can sense how happy it is." Saphira smiled as that was good to know. "You should be able to sense your maternal bond with the sparkling now too. You might not notice it straight away since our bond is fresh, but it will be there."
Saphira couldn't help but be curious about it. As she continued to eat, she focused for a moment. She could feel the bond with Optimus, and she could sense his love and happiness. And as she focused, she realized that there was definitely something else. It felt different to Optimus, but it was happy. Saphira tested it by sending love, and Saphira widened her eyes as she felt a response immediately to her. It was love being sent back to her, and Saphira couldn't help but smile as tears fill her eyes.
"I sense it...I sent love, and it responded," Saphira said in an emotional voice, placing her hand on her stomach. She sniffled a little and looked at Optimus. "I had so much doubt over whether I was pregnant or not. I...I guess because we had not been intimate for five months until last night due to being so busy...I didn't think it was possible. Especially as Primal and Saywa didn't have their first sparkling for many years."
"It is understandable that you felt that way, Saphira. I didn't even notice for many months myself, but the sparkling is at a development stage where the maternal and paternal bonds have formed, which was a few weeks ago..." Saphira raised an eyebrow as she put some more fish into her mouth to eat. "I know I should have said something, but I did notice you didn't realize you were carrying. And I wasn't sure how to tell you. But that no longer matters." He kissed her cheek gently and she chuckled softly. "You now know. And you can sense our sparkling. And it makes my spark so happy to know you now can sense it."
"Yeah...though I have missed five months of knowing about it. I could have been able to think about the sparkling's future, writing names down and so on...but I guess because I'm not really showing..."
"There is a small bump," Optimus interrupted gently as he rubbed her stomach. "But not noticeable enough right now. Which is why you also haven't been aware until now. At least you haven't been purging, as that symptom would have given it away a lot sooner."
That was true. If Saphira had experienced morning sickness through the first five months, she definitely would have realized. She did know she had felt sick for a few days several months ago, but as it lasted only a few days, she chocked it up to being a stomach bug rather than anything related to a pregnancy. Though as Optimus said she had a small bump on her stomach, she moved her plate aside and looked down at her stomach. Optimus was smiling in amusement as he rubbed her stomach gently and it didn't take her long to see the smooth, round bump on her stomach.
