He grinned, standing up and brushing off his pants like he’d just completed some grand task. “Thank you, my lady. Your trust shall not be misplaced.”
I rolled my eyes, though the smile stayed on my face. “You’re such an idiot.”
“Yeah, but I’m your idiot.”
I couldn’t argue with that.
He really thought he had me wrapped around his little finger, didn’t he?
Before getting on the bike, I shot him a look, trying to appear as calm as I could. "You better drive slow, Kookoo."
He raised an eyebrow, clearly amused. "Slow? Why?"
I crossed my arms, feeling the need to say it, even though I knew how ridiculous it sounded. "Because I know you. You’ll speed up on purpose just so I’ll have to wrap my arms around you. You’re sly like that.”
He pinched the bridge of his nose, groaning in mock frustration. “Exactly how many K-dramas do you watch in a day for your head to become that delulu, huh?”
I shrugged, not willing to give him the satisfaction of admitting he was right. But before I could say anything else, he stepped closer.
Too close.
His hands moved to my waist, pulling me against him, and my breath hitched at the sudden contact. My body stiffened for a second, but his warmth, the heat radiating off him, it was too much. He pressed himself into me, his lips hovering near my ear, his breath hot against my skin.
"If I wanted to," he whispered, his voice low, almost a growl, "I could have already done a lot of things with you."
The words sent a shiver down my spine, and my knees felt weak. There was something dangerous in the way he said it, something that made me feel electrified all over. I bit my lip, trying to suppress the gasp that was threatening to escape.
He didn’t move, just held me there, close, too close, his body pressed up against mine. I could feel everything—the strength of him, the way his muscles tensed as if he was holding back.
The moment felt like it stretched on forever, like we were caught in some kind of unspoken battle, neither of us wanting to break first. But then, just when I thought I couldn’t take the tension anymore, he stepped back.
His fingers, gentle but firm, gathered my hair into a ponytail, the sensation of his touch sending another jolt of electricity through me. I blinked, startled by the intimacy of it, but before I could say anything, he was sliding a helmet onto my head, carefully securing it.
“There,” he murmured, his eyes locking with mine for a brief second before he stepped back. "All set."
I swallowed hard, my heart still racing as I climbed onto the bike behind him. My hands hovered awkwardly near his waist before I finally wrapped them around him, my fingers gripping the leather of his jacket.
He revved the engine, and the sound sent a thrill through me. Before I knew it, we were speeding off into the night.
As the wind whipped past us, I couldn’t help myself. "You’re not even using the full power of this bike," I teased, trying to sound casual even though my heart was still pounding from our earlier interaction.
Jungkook glanced over his shoulder, his smirk evident even though I couldn’t see his face completely. “Oh really? You’re the expert now?”
I grinned, feeling a little more confident. “I mean, considering I’ve read more about bikes than you ever will, yeah. You’re barely pushing this thing to its limits.”
