"That's... Okay, you're not wrong." Juliette sighed, making Shelby grin as she stepped further away from her, crouching over Juliette's bag... Alright, so she was picking the outfit for the night as well. That was good to know, because there had really been no discussion of that, so she wouldn't have known had she not looked up and seen it happen.
"I know I'm not wrong, I'm never wrong." Shelby stood up, a triumphant grin on her face before she turned around, a small piece of fabric in her hand. Skirt? Babes, I need more than a skirt I'm not... I am not brave enough for that. "Put this on." She caught the flying skirt right before it hit her in the face.
Oh.
So she was expecting her to wear that skirt tonight... Well... That was... Like, she could, but she was scared it would be too much now.
"Do I really have to wear this skirt?" Juliette asked, remembering the very feral responses that her friends had had - they had to walk to the venue, and people could be fucking freaks on the street, she wasn't sure how to handle that.
Shelby's arms slid around her waist in the mirror as she rested her chin on top of her head, giving her a lazy smile as she rubbed her thumbs over her stomach softly. Juliette leaned into her.
"Depends." Depends on what? "Do you want people hitting on your hot ass partner?" She was quick to shake her head. Not strangers anyway - there were very few people that she was okay with flirting with Esme and not a single one of them was someone that they didn't know.
"No." She said, and Shelby nodded, moving her head to press a kiss to the top of Juliette's before she spoke.
"Then wear it." Shelby pulled away from her, sitting on the edge of the bed and crossing one leg over the other with a smirk, like what she was going to say was possibly the most important thing in the entire world - Juliette had no doubt that it at least had some kind of truth to it, but she was scared about what it could possibly be for Shelby to be grinning at her like a fucking madman. "Dressing hot and then staking your claim is a surefire way to ensure that no one will try it." Oh. Well... That made her face get hot.
Staking her claim wasn't really what she'd call it... She just hated how some people acted like Esme was single and someone that they could get simply because they were onstage performing - being a performer didn't make them single, it just made them sexy.
"Okay, you're making me sound possessive." She wasn't possessive, not toxically. Shelby only shrugged, examining her nails with a little smile that Juliette did not appreciate, because it probably meant that she was being disagreed with even though this wasn't a disagreeable thing. It wasn't something that Shelby had the right to disagree on - she wasn't toxic or possessive, and if she was, she was sure that Shelby would've murdered her where she stood about a thousand times over by now.
"Only sometimes." She said, and Juliette gasped, shaking her head before giving her a look. She was not going to stand for this partially true slander, not in the slightest - what kind of a person would she be if she did?
"Okay." She shook her head. "No." She sighed, stripping her pants off regardless so that she could put the skirt on - Shelby hadn't really steered her wrong fashion wise even once during their friendship, so she was still gonna do it.
Shelby smiled at her, resting her chin on her hand.
"While you're getting dressed... I heard Penny accidentally got a show yesterday, huh?" Shelby asked, sounding too pleased with herself as Juliette sighed, backing up so that Shelby could zip her skirt as she spoke.
