"Oomf!" Y/N landed on him. She regained her composure when she realised who she fell on. Bowing lowly Y/N profusely apologised, "I'm terribly sorry. I promise I didn't do it on purpose!" He put on his charming smile and assured her it was no problem. "No worries. Really. Can I get you something?" Y/N could practically feel Misa's rage from behind him which made her form goosebumps. "Ah no thanks. Your girlfriend looks scary- I'd rather not." She whispered, hoping the popstar wouldn't hear her. He chuckled and waved his hand dismally,

"She's not really my girlfriend." Y/N nodded in understanding and took a tray.

"Hey! Can we help you?" Misa chimed in all bubbly.

First POV (Y/N)

I laughed inwardly when I noticed a vein pop on Light's forehead. Man did I feel bad for him.

"Uh no sorry..I was just apologising." I scratched my neck awkwardly at the tension. "Misa we were just talking don't worry about it." Light patted her head which seemed to make her happy as she didn't retort anymore.

When we reached the end of the lunch line I said my goodbyes to him and as I was about to leave, he tapped my shoulder making me stop in my tracks.

"You're in my criminal justice class right?" I nodded and looked at him confused as to why he stopped me. "We should keep in touch. See you next class." He continued.

"Yeah sure. Bye Light."

Third POV

As Misa tugged Light away he stared at Y/N's disappearing figure in amusement. She captivated him the moment she joined his class. He was aware that she was the ex of a famous detective, L, although they never released his identity. She could be an additional pawn to his game and guarantee his goal to get rid of L.

Ryuk observed him quietly, as opposed to his chatty nature. The shinshigami knew Light had other intentions with Y/N that didn't involve L. He constantly talked about replacing Misa with a less annoying version- he seemed to have found that other version.

"So this Y/N girl hm?" Ryuk trailed behind them. Misa looked at him weirdly and clung onto Light's arm. "He's just playing with her to get to L! Right honey~" The tall male stayed silent and paid no mind to the energetic duo.

First POV (Y/N)

As I walked away from Light and Misa, I couldn't shake off the feeling that something was amiss. Light's sudden interest in me seemed too convenient, especially considering L's suspicions. I shook my head, trying to clear my thoughts. Was I becoming paranoid because of L's influence, or was there truly something to be wary of?

I made my way to a quiet corner of the campus, pulling out my phone to text L.

"Hey, something strange happened today. Light Yagami approached me. Coincidence?"

I waited for a response, but none came. Typical L, always leaving me on read when it mattered most. I sighed, pocketing my phone and heading to my next class.

Third POV

Meanwhile, in his hotel room, L stared at Y/N's message with a mixture of concern and intrigue. He knew Y/N well enough to understand that she wouldn't be able to resist getting involved, despite his warnings. Part of him was frustrated, but another part was secretly relieved. Y/N's intuition had proven valuable in past cases, and her proximity to Light could provide insights he couldn't gain otherwise.

"Watari," L called out, his voice barely above a whisper. "We need to increase surveillance on Y/N. It seems Kira might be making his move."
