'He's saying it as if he's sending someone off on town patrol...' Bellitan thought while staring at Deon and the demon king, finding it weird but also impressive on how he's making it sound like he's just going out on patrol.

'He thinks that commander demon will be able to do what the twelfth commander couldn't. How must he be for the demon king to put such upmost faith in him...?!' Bellitan thought, staring at Deon with curiosity nut also a bit of surprise.

"...I'm... not sure if I have fully recovered from my injuries..." Deon said to the demon king, wanting him to change his mind.

*Maybe he doesn't want to go...* The third corps commander, Asild whispered to Jaykar, thinking that Deon doesn't want to go, which he was right on.

"...No. If it were anyone else I would think that too, but commander demon is suppressing his thirst for battle to make rational assessments of his condition." Jaykar said while staring at Deon, thinking that he was suppressing his urge bloodshed.

"Really? That's really impressive." Asild commented as Jaykar nodded his head, both thinking Deon was suppressing his urge for blood.

'I don't trust him fully yet but he's a good example on what a commander should be.' Jaykar thought while staring at Deon.

'Ugh... Fighting does sound nice but in a ruined place with that many obstacles would suck...' Deon thought but then he realized that he could go as crazy as he wants since there would be no one nearby.

'...But since there would be no one who would get in my way, I can go as crazy as I want.' Deon thought before he nodded a bit, agreeing to go help the twelfth corps.

"I'm not telling you to overexert yourself. I just want you to oversee the general operation while you relief some stress. It's not so hard, is it?" The demon king asked while looking at Deon with a condescending smile, to which Deon just sighed.

"If you insist then I'll do it.." Deon said quietly as he looked away from the demon king, not wanting to see the demon king's expression.

As he turned his head away he could see all the other commanders looking at Deon and the demon king, making him feel a bit nervous.

Time skip to where Deon is in his room

Deon got back in his room and he began to pack the things he would need, mainly just weapons and a few other things.

He was finished quickly and he sighed and sat on his bed, picking up his cup of tea and finishing it as quickly as he could since he didn't want it to go to waste.

The doors opened to show Ed and he walked in with a smile, he walked to his commander and picked up his bag.

"It's time for us to go, sir!" Ed said happily, leading Deon out of his room and towards the gates where a carriage and headless horses were waiting, but there was also a girl there, it was Lilinell.

She ran over to him with a smile, holding a necklace in her hands.

"Sir arut!! Before you go I want to give this to you!" Lilinell said as she gave him the necklace, smiling and happily putting her hands forward.

Deon just nodded and put the necklace around his neck, patting her head a bit. "Thank you."

Lilinell smiled wider as she said bye to him and Ed led Deon into the carriage, he just followed along and let Ed lead him into the carriage.

"I'll tell you when we're near the village." Ed said as he closed the door, Deon could hear Lilinell complaining about not wanting to let arut leave, but he just ignored it.

'Geez this poison really makes me feel sick...' Deon thought as he looked out the window, seeing Ed on a headless horse and he was talking with another demon, to what he didn't know about but he had a pretty bad headache from the poison he took earlier.

He sighed and closed the curtains on the window, choosing to instead just lean back in the leather seat in the carriage.

"Hm?" Ed looked at the window on the carriage and saw that the curtains were closed, his expression turned concerned as he thought that Deon might be in pain or annoyed, neither of which were good.

'Poor commander, he's probably in a bad mood...' Ed thought as he thought about how Deon must be in a bad mood, which was definitely not good since that just meant that he would be more sadistic in battle and since he was still recovering he would need to take it easy and not push himself too bad.

'Maybe I should have listened to ben and took the medicine before I left...' Deon thought as he groaned quietly, closing his eyes and trying to relax as best as he could.

Suddenly the carriage shook and he shot up immediately, he opened the curtains and saw that they were in the village and monsters were attacking them.

'Can they handle it, or do I need to step in? My headache is killing me right now so I would rather not get involved if they could handle it themselves...' Deon thought, knowing that the subordinates in the zero corps command were the strongest, but he could never be to certain about the enemies strength.
