Lost and Found

She can only remember seeing a tall figure racing towards her. It wraps its big long arms around her and carries her into a cave. She doesn't even have the strength to wiggle herself free. That was when she lost consciousness.

She blinked once. She blinked twice. She finally opened her eyes to realize that she was on a soft square thing. Her surroundings filled with unknown objects from rectangle stones to -- Oh! How are you feeling, little Manta Ray? The tall figure with tribe clothing came into her sight.

"It's alright, no need to fret. You were hurt and crash-landed in front of me. It's in my best interest that you're treated and released back into the skies."

She wanted to thank the man with tribe clothing but forgot she couldn't move freely just yet. Her eyes averted back to the man.

"Hmm... You've rested for quite a while now. You should be able to fly by tomorrow."

She felt a little weird. Why would this man understand what she's trying to ask when she hasn't honked it yet.

"You want to know why I know what you're thinking?". Her eyes widened and panicked.

"Hahaha, it's not like that little one. I'm just an experienced light whisperer whose job is to make sure hurt manta rays are treated with as much care as they need. That's how I know what the manta rays commonly ask about when they're here. But if I didn't answer your question, let me know and I'll answer properly."

Just like that, the man said she should get some more rest before the big day tomorrow. She cautiously but politely smiled and nodded at the man. That night, she went back to sleep, hoping that her mom and the whole flock hadn't gone far without her.
