Possession

"What is the longest time you've stayed up for?"
Y/n asked while taking a sip from the hot coffee. It was just cool enough to drink properly now. The two of them sat in silence for a moment as Ford gathered an answer.

"...78 hours give or take?"
His gaze landed on the coffee in his cup as he answered. This sounded like a normal amount of time to him.
"Around that much. Caffeine helps a lot,-"
He looked over to Y/n expecting them to be nodding in agreement, yet they looked concerned.
"...What?"

"That's not normal... I was expecting like 24 hours or something along that vein." Their voice was filled with concern and worry. Ford was now confused. He raised an eyebrow, taking a bigger drink from his coffee now.

"You're gonna sit here and tell me you've never stayed awake for that long before?"
The question sounded as if it was ment to be humorous, only Ford let out a playful scoff expecting Y/n to play along. But they didn't, their expression seeming to sink deeper into a concerned state.

"What do you do to make you stay up for that long?"
Y/n doesn't know much about Ford. But there couldn't be a normal explanation as to way he's staying up for so long, when no answer came Y/n sighed. Taking a swig of their drink. The two sat in silence for a long while. The occasional sip from one of their drinks were heard. After the first minute of silence Ford looked into the device once more.

'They don't need to know about the portal... not yet.'
He sighed mentally as he tinkered with the device. He found some more broken pieces and gently removed them. Y/n began to stand up and walk away, finding something to keep their mind occupied. They moved over to the couch, their phone was placed on the coffee table. They took it in their hands, no signal, as expected. A sigh was heard before the phone was unlocked. Good thing they had plenty of things downloaded to pass the time.

12:34am

Ford felt himself dozing off. He only got like 3 hours of sleep when he laid down earlier. Making this the only amount of sleep he's had for two days. His body was failing him again, this was a weekly occurrence for him. Ford would pass out, Bill would take over, then Ford would deal with the after math. But this time he didn't want Bill to take over, more than normal that is. His head was being propped up with his hand, his head slowly feel down before Ford jumped up to stay awake. He was on his 5th coffee at this point. He shook his head and grabbed the cup next to him. It was now empty as he chugged the last of it. He covered his eyes with his hand. He started to doze off again. This time it took longer for him to react. By the time he jolted awake he was already forced into the mindscape. His mental form watched as Bill sat up in his body. That grin plastered on Ford's face.

"Dammit."
Ford groaned aloud, yet the only people who could hear him were himself and Bill. The demon laughed quietly as he saw Ford annoyed.

"Don't worry sixer, you'll have your body back later!"
Ford rolled his eyes as Bill used his body as a puppet again. Bill had a plan to get Y/n wanting to leave as soon as possible. Ford stayed behind and laid floating in the air. While he was pushed out of his body he had too different possible outcomes that would happen. First his mental form would stay asleep and only when Bill leaves his body is when he becomes conscious. Or he'd be awake and aware and just be idlely floating around his house.

'Stupid fucking...'
He sighed softly to himself, when he was in this state he couldn't fall asleep. He didn't know why he just knew that no matter how much time he spent with his eyes closed he'd never sleep. He floated down to the desk and examined what he was able too, he couldn't touch anything so he just stared down at the broken pieces he pulled out earlier. Meanwhile Bill crept around the house, looking for Y/n. He had a fool proof plan to make sure they wouldn't get 'attached', or distract Ford.
