62: The exam!

I hadn't said much about the plan, it might work, might not. I was more of the improvising person... and I was very much confused of everything happening around me as I tried to deal with the caffeine.
It wasn't like catnip, that stuff sucks. It was more like... everything mattered all at once and I was alert and awake. I would end up with a headache no doubt.

"He's close!" Todoroki's suddenly said, as my cat ears disappeared.

"There you are."

Aizawa jumped down and immediately kneed Todoroki in his stomach. Ouch.
I jumped back from an elbow in my face and as Todoroki went for an attack, I attacked as well.

Aizawa jumped up, using his capture gear, and Todoroki almost punched me instead.
I huffed as I grabbed Todoroki's hand and went to run.

My cat ears appeared again and I raised a hand in the air, pushing Aizawa back with levitation.

Todoroki made a wall of ice and we ran for the gate.

We weren't anywhere near yet, we still had a long way to go.

"We need a new plan," I said despite feeling bad about changing it so quickly in the game, "This isn't gonna work."

"Agreed," Todoroki said, "What do we do though?"

I thought while my mouth tried to translate it. "Er... we could... fifty five."

"Huh?"

My cat ears disappeared again and from behind, Todoroki got caught in the white gear.

I jumped back, already able to predict the kick Aizawa send my way. He landed and I tried to throw a punch which he dodged.

"Run!" Todoroki called out, "Run for the gate!!"

I nodded and did so. I mean, it was enough of a plan, I think.

Aizawa turned to Todoroki, making sure that he couldn't run away before he would chase after me.

My soft breaths filled the air as I ran on and on.

Then I paused and frowned.

My ears could hear Aizawa nearing. He wasn't going in my exact direction, though it wasn't hard to predict the straight line towards the gate that I had gone for.
I softly clenched my fists before I turned around.

I ran back to Todoroki, a new plan forming in my head. I avoided Aizawa, nearing my teammate as I thought of a plan.

Time to focus! Even if it would give me a killer headache later.

Todoroki hung, staring at the sharp stuff on the ground. There was no way he could burn the gear and drop himself to the floor, so he just waited, hoping to hear that his team had won.

I ran up to him and immediately levitated all of the objects on the floor. I shoved them aside and went to help Todoroki.

"You came back," he noticed.

"Indubitably," I said, "Indubudable, no, I said it right the first time— anyway, we should go, I'll explain along the way."

We ran and I explained.

Aizawa was looking for us.

I held his capture gear in my hands and prepared myself for a good fight.

This was gonna be interesting.

The silence between us was only interrupted by our running feet and the short gasps.
Closer and closer we were getting, though we both knew Aizawa was nearing as well.

He found us and activated his quirk. I dodged an attack and tried to punch him myself.

"Now!" I called out when my cat ears appeared.

Todoroki waved his arm, making Aizawa's pause his surprise attack and step back instead. It was a distraction though, and Todoroki got the chance to run ahead.

I shot out the chapter tape, making Aizawa turn to me as he let out an annoyed huff.

"I should have known you would do this."

I grinned. "You should have known not to leave weapons behind, yes."

Aizawa knew more about the weapon though, and quickly got it back, making me almost stumble to the ground. Another useful fighting thing would be not to fight someone with one weapon in the game because... now I was the one without any weapons and Aizawa had one.

I dodged the gear only once before it wrapped around me.

"I've got you," Aizawa said as I continued to struggle, "Now stay put while I find your teammate—"

A sharp gust of cold air hit my face. He was supposed to run, dammit!

The wall of ice grew, only to stop right in front of my nose. Aizawa stood, covered in ice but for his head.

"Surprise," I said as Todoroki pulled the capture gear away from me, "Now stay put while we get out of here."

If looks could kill I'd be dead and Aizawa would have a body to bury for real.
Me and Todoroki ran to the exit and ran through together.

I grinned as I held my hand up for an high five.

Todoroki ignored it, though he didn't say nothing.
"We make an alright team."

"Hell yeah we do!"

I may have seen Todoroki smile ever so slightly.
