64: Completing a Side Quest

I sat down on the side of the pool, putting my feet in the water. I let the sun fall over my face and sipped my drink.

For a moment I felt calm.

And the next moment something pulled my tail.

I froze, my ears falling back as I accidentally let go of the juice pack.

Slowly I looked back at Mineta, a glare forming on my face.
That asshole.

Shoji picked Mineta up as Tsu hurried to retrieve my lost juice pack.

Shoji was sure to put Mineta's head under water as everyone continued to chat about random things, practically ignoring what just happened.

As I sat, I now was sure to keep my tail close to myself.
The sun didn't seem as nice anymore.

The competition continued on. I won another round before we decided to use our quirks.

"Using our quirks?" Sero sighed, "If I could have used my quirk I'd still be in the competition."

"It's not fair, though it's fun to see the last few people compete," Ojiro said next, trying to keep the mood up.

Everyone looked, curious to see how everyone would use their quirks.

I grinned and won another round by using Todoroki's eyes. Todoroki had his ice, but I had speed to add to it, which made me the winner.

Then Hitoshi and me, and Shoji too, had to race.
We all jumped into the water before Hitosh loudly swore.

"Fuck!"
Was he dying?

"What?" It was a reflex more than anything.

I froze. My head clouded over for three second exactly. I stayed in the water, a voice in the back of my head telling me not to drown. Thanks Hitoshi, but still a bitch move.
I was released and cursed under my breath.

Of course I wasn't able to catch up anymore and lost.
I pushed Hitoshi in the pool once more, which earned a scolding from Iida of course.

The last three would race.

They prepared. Everyone held their breath. Even the girls stopped to watch this.

The three jumped up. Midoryia had his green lightning. Bakugo blew an explosion and Iida used his speed quirk.

And then they all fell into the water as their quirks gave up on them.

Aizawa stood in the doorway.

"Times up, get out of here."

Everyone collectively died on the inside.
He was so doing that for fun— I wanted to see how would win!!

We all left to the changing rooms. I waited outside for Hitoshi and said bye to everyone.

"Today was a lot of fun!" Jirou said, "Thank for coming (y/n), I know you don't like water all that much."

"It was fun," I smiled, "Thanks for inviting me."

Jirou smiled as she left.

And then the next one came, and the next one, all starting some small talk. Like everyone was my bestie or some stupid shit like that. I hated it.

"Hurry up Hitoshiiiii...!" I hissed once nobody came.

Why did he take so long?

Finally Denki walked out. He didn't meet my eyes and just left.
Though I appreciated the quiet, what's is up with him?

My head did some counting  suddenly I realised that that left Hitoshi.
How long could it take to change?

...wait...

Hitoshi walked out, and almost didn't notice me. His cheeks were slightly red as he was very distracted.
I was almost mad at him, though I couldn't be.

We walked off before Hitoshi couldn't help himself.
"He kissed me," he said with wide eyes.

I rolled my eyes. "Yeah, duh."

"Huh?" Hitoshi looked at me confused.

"I've been waiting on this for ages. Mic's gonna love to hear the news—"

Hitoshi connected the dots and gave me a glare.
"You—"

"Thank me later!"

I had to run off as Hitoshi chased me, ready to throw a book at me.

Suddenly I was met with white capture tape. Aizawa gave me an annoyed look. "No running in the halls."

"Denki and Hitoshi—"

"Shut!!" Hitoshi found me and put a hand over my mouth.

"Finally," Aizawa said and Hitoshi's face reddened like a tomato.

I grinned as Hitoshi glared at me.

"I'm proud of you," Aizawa said as he put a hand in Hitoshi's messy hair.

The capture tape loosened ever so slightly and I ran off.

Mic was in the teachers lounge, finishing some paperwork. I ignored Snipe and Cementos as I burst out, telling him the news.

Mic jumped up. "Awesome! Where is he! I need to—"

"He's with Dad..."

I couldn't finish as Mic was already running off.

Of course I was left alone with two of my teachers.
Awkward.

"True love!" Cementos said as Snipe nodded.

"I hope I'll get invited to the wedding!" Snipe said and Cementos gave him a weird look.

...weirdos.
"I'll see you guys later," I said and hurried away.
Mission completed, Hitoshi humiliated and Mic and Zawa happy.

It felt slightly bad to immediately return to the main quest again.
Though I did so, taking a bus and leaving my family behind for now.
