 “Yea, I’m sure”

It felt weird to be back home to the place where I grew up and to where I was able to cherish moments. I always told myself I wouldn’t step foot in L.A. again, but eventually you have to come back to the place you were born. I knew my parents weren’t happy in Houston and who was I to stop them from coming here.

I sighed softly and walked towards my mom who was busy unpacking.   She smiled at me before getting back to putting up the dishes.

“Mom?”

“Yea?” She responded glancing at me for a second.

“Is it okay if I go for a walk?” I asked.

“Sure, why not?  Just don’t stay out late.”   I nodded, grabbed my black jacket, and quickly put it on.

As soon as I opened the door, the cold autumn air hit my face. I smiled softly. I breathed in gently and the air hit my nostrils, causing me to shiver.

I wandered around the neighborhood trying to see if I could make any new friends, but no one seemed to be outside. My parents got a new home on the other side of L.A. and I knew I didn’t have to worry about seeing him again.   The neighborhood seemed really peaceful and quiet, something that I just loved. It sort of reminded me of my old home.

I stared up at the gray sky; the clouds were all smashed together giving the sky a beautiful shape. I felt as a body crashed against my body. I immediately threw out my elbows to catch my fall.   The guy that fell on top of me quickly stood up.

“I’m so sorry I didn’t see you there,” he said, helping me get up.

I shook my head at him as I dusted the dirt off. “Don’t worry about it.  That’s what I get for not paying attention.”

He flashed me a cute smile and I couldn’t help but to blush. I couldn’t help but to notice his dark black eyes.

“So what were you so entertained with?” he asked.

“The sky,” I stared up and smiled softly.

“Can I ask what’s so special about the sky?”   I shrugged.

“I think it’s just so amazing in the fall.”   He laughed softly.

“Yea it is, especially at night because you can see all the stars so clearly.”   I stared at him oddly. I didn’t know guys actually paid attention to the sky.

 “Yea, I know.”

“You do? Do you live here?”   I nodded.

“Used to, I was born raised here for fifteen years.  Then…stuff happened and I moved. I just came back today.”

“Oh I see. Well welcome back.” I dug my hands inside my jacket and I smiled at him.

“Thanks.” I walked past him and all he did was stand there and smile at me.

“Oh hey wait!” he screamed. I turned around and looked at him.

   “Yea?”

  “What’s your name?”

“Just call me Bella,” I smiled.

“Nice to meet you Bella!” he shouted.

“You too!” I waited for him to give me his name.

“My name is Jeydon,” he smiled.

Quickly my smile faded away. “Jeydon?” I choked out.
