Chapter 26

"God, it's been so long" he caressed my face, the look on his face making me sick.

"No, like hell I'll let you do that again." I pushed away pulling out the gun underneath my jeans and in my left shoe.

"Get away from me" I pointed the gun at the duo taking slow steps towards the door.

"You won't shoot" Jay mocked. I wouldn't, the gun wasn't even loaded.

"I wouldn't be too sure" I said clicking the safety off. I gave myself a mental pat on the back when they fell for it and lifted their hands up in defence.

"Throw me your keys" Jay threw the keys to my feet before I swiftly picked them up.

"And you" I pointed the gun at the other b*stard, who did as instructed.

"Don't move" I moved backwards to the door shutting it behind me locking it and dropping the keys down the gutter nearby before running. I ran until I couldn't breathe but I didn't stop. Once I saw the familiar door, I let out a sigh of relief walking in and dropping the gun on the nearby drawer, before entering the living room.

"What the f*ck happened to your face?" Jimin shrieked once he saw me walk in.

"Nothing, where's Taehyung?" I asked taking a  seat trying to catch my breath.

"He's upstairs. Y/n, what happened?" Jimin sat next to my holding my chin assessing the forming bruise.

"A lot" I shrugged and accepted the glass of water that Jihyun had gone to fetch.

"I'm going to call Taehyung." Jihyun left the room and within 10 seconds there was loud thudding in the hallway and then Taehyung was knelt in-front of me, one had gripping my knee whilst the other held my jaw.

"You said you were going church. What the hell happened?" Taehyung tilted my head back assessing the wound further, cleaning the blood.

"Are you hurt anywhere else? For f*cks sake, why do I let this happen to you?" Taehyung punched the floor cursing himself under his breath.

"Taehyung, stop. I did this." I took a hold of Taehyung's hands. "I went to see them", I explained.

"Why would you do that" Jimin questioned in disbelief as Taehyung stared on.

"You went to see them?" He whispered.

"I'm sorry, I didn't tell you. I had to do it" I looked down at our intertwined hands.

"What if something happened? What if they did something? It would have killed me" He held my hand tighter as if he thought I was slipping away.

"They didn't do anything" I shook my head. Taehyung gave me a look of disbelief as he eyed my bruise.

"I was the one who did everything" I smiled wincing at the sting in my cheek.

"What do you mean?" Taehyung asked sitting by me holding the pack of ice Jimin had grabbed from the freezing against my jaw.

"I'm going to the cops. It's about time they faced the consequences of their actions" my heart began to feel lighter as every word left my mouth.

"You've already done that. Nothing came of it, they were left free to go" Jimin said with his eyebrows scrunched.

I smiled.

"This time I have proof" I moved away from Taehyung checking the back pocket of my jeans, retrieving my phone.

"And you think they'll believe you? Like hell they would. We r*ped you, we physically and emotionally abused you and I'll scream it out loud right now, but as soon as you mention this outside this door no one will be you."

"Our entire conversation is recorded in this phone. Everything. They confessed." my eyes instantly filled with tears. Happy tears. Taehyung looked at me before a second before his face broke out in a smile.

He jumped from his seat and wrapped his arms around me, holding me close. What I had done today I could have done ages ago, but I was terrified. But, when then rock bottom became the solid foundation on which I built my life.

Jimin and Jihyun laughed in their seats before getting up and throwing their arms around Taehyung and I making it a group hug.

Moments.

Our lives are made up of series of moments. If you're lucky, you'll get to have hundreds even thousands of them. There will be small moments, moments when you're doing something so mundane that you won't even realise that you're in a moment. But there will also be big moments. Life changing ones. These ones will be in your memory for an awfully long time.

This was my moment.....
