There were Ten of us, all battered and weary, our hearts wounded with betrayal. And even in this miserable phase of life, we all found a fragile solace together.
Moriah, Kyra, Hadassah, Zailey, Yori, Tonia, Amara, Rosine Idalia And I.
During our initial session, we introduced ourselves and got acquainted. But in the next meeting, we were deliberately asked to share our stories, our reasons for joining the group.
Hearing such gruesome acts of infidelity made mine so smaller, and I was grateful because I don't think I would've ever survived what they did, or maybe I have, I wouldn't know. You can understand someone's pain, but you cannot measure the depths of it unless you've fallen down the same pitch.
But somehow, we're all on this painful journey towards healing, and it's gonna be a long way to go, but we're taking it one thoughtful step at a time. Sharing our stories, our pain, and our struggles with each other has been a source of comfort, a reminder that we're not alone in this.
And It's helped us gain some perspective - we've realized that pain is a part of life, and it's different for everyone. But in sharing our wounds, we've found a sense of gratitude, a reminder that things could always be worse. That's been a powerful realization, one that's helping us move forward, together.
The private rehab that's running this online therapy program is really stepping up, showing a deep way of empathy and understanding. It's amazing how they've created a safe space for everyone to open up, even if you're miles away from each other Sharing personal moments, like photos of your kids and the artwork you did with your kids, adds a touching layer to the healing process. I've submitted a hand painting of me and Ayah, gotten it framed and hung it up to, whenever I pass by it, I am always happy. We have an upcoming essay sharing on finding life's worth, who makes our life beautiful and moving forward sounds like a strength offering step towards reflection and growth.
It's amazing how much progress we've made in just four sessions. The group's dynamic and Harriet's guidance are really helping us all open up and heal. That phrase "pain is always there, but what amount is it and how you let it reflect your life is what's calculated" really resonates - it's about learning to manage and navigate the pain, rather than letting it consume you. We're taking steps towards a more balanced life, and that's something to be proud of.
"Mosey!" I exclaimed, startled, as she sprang over the sofa and landed on my lap, nearly knocking Ayah out of my arms. I laughed, trying to balance Ayah and Mosey's sudden invasion of my space. My kitten, a stunning cream and white Norwegian forest cat, watched with curious eyes, already claiming her spot as a valuable member of the house. It felt surreal, but in the best way possible, to finally have a furry companion to share my life with.
The name Mosey suits her perfectly! Inspired by her little kitten strides, so relaxed and poised, like she's savoring every moment. Her majestic looks, and with that cream and white coat, she's definitely a beauty.
As I gently stroked Ayah's soft cheek, her bright smile lit up the darkening world around me. She's my reason for being, my everything. But I knew I couldn't cling to her like a lifeline forever. I had to learn to live for her, to find my own strength and joy. The thought was draining and daunting, but I took comfort in the small progress I'd made. I don't to wander around like a lost soul anymore, numb and empty, however, pain doesn't leaves you that easily, it's a prolonged, almost impossible process, you have to push through all limits to heal.
Ayah's teething phase was a challenging time, and her cries would tug at my heartstrings. But thankfully, I'd learned some effective hacks to distract her and ease her discomfort. From teething toys to gentle massages. As a result, we navigated the phase with far more ease than I had anticipated.
