"Sam, just relax!" Catch finally speaks up. "Godspeed isn't very good at this, he hasn't spent much time on the Earth. I may be antisocial but I can handle these situations better than Mr. Formality over here."
"Look, my sister and Ryan are going to be home soon and Kasie could come by anytime. All of them have 'shoot first, ask questions later' attitudes and you're just lucky you got to me before I stabbed you."
"I am very aware that they could stop by but we're prepared for that. And I'm not 'lucky.'" she says, an angry undertone clear. "Even if you did stab me, I would have survived."
"Really? Then let me test that theory right now!" I stand up and pick up Godspeed's blade, shifting the handle to find a comfortable grip.
Catch's eyes flick nervously to Godspeed but he just returns it with a 'well, not my problem' smile. "That's what I thought." I sit back down and toss the blade to my side.
"It's not that I was lying but our blades are blessed to be able to kill spirits and your platinum bullets are quite painful," she explains. "And speaking of your family, the reason you should join us is because we have complete ability to... bring unpleasantries upon them."
I glare and my hand twitches to grab the blade by my side. "Are you... are you threatening my family?"
She smirks. "You could call it that."
"If you even lay a finger on them!" My hand goes for the blade but before I can even brush my fingers against, my hand is in the cold grip of Godspeed and my jaw drops. I didn't even see him move.
"If you would please, Catch!" he scolds.
"Whatever." She rolls her eyes and leans back. "You can't hide behind him forever.
Godspeed turns back to me and looks at me seriously. "We do not want to hurt anyone you love but know that we have the full capability to do so. It would be wise of you to join us to ensure the full safety of your family."
"If you don't want to then don't!" I yank my hand out of his grip. "It would be wise if you don't come near me again after this." The threats hang heavy in the air as he sits back down.
"Okay, fine. New question: what's with these weird moments in having where the world seems to... change? I assume that has something to do with this."
"Those are already happening?"
"For a while now. Three so far."
"Three?" Catch glances worriedly at Godspeed. "We need to get her to the Fellowship."
"Care to elaborate?"
"It means that your Other tendencies are becoming more powerful. We need to get you into the Planes at least once."
"And if I don't?"
"Then suffer. My guess it you already got a bad headache at least once and it's just going to get worse and more frequent from there. Unless you come with us to our cult, you'll be in pain. Quite often I may add," she spits.
I huff, angry at this stupid ordeal. "How did Godspeed get an academy gun? And what are these weird glass things on your belt?" I tap the oddly colored substances.
