Ch.32 The Proper Use of Non-Human Girls

Start from the beginning

Looking up at the clear sky and thinking about how busy Raven 12345 seemed, Harry shook his head and decided to ask next time.

He took a bus back to White Stone Road in South Lockport. To his relief, his house looked fine-no smoke or suspicious explosions. It seemed the two superwomen hadn't fought while he was away. Of course, it was also possible that Lily was out on a "house call" and hadn't returned yet. Harry walked up to the door, unlocked it, and called out to the living room before even seeing anyone: "I'm back!"

The house was eerily quiet. Harry closed the door behind him and noticed that there wasn't a sound. The air conditioner in the living room was off. He poked his head around for a while, but only Roll sauntered out of the kitchen to greet him.

"Damn... did those two superwomen go out to duel?"

Harry suddenly thought of a terrifying possibility-he wasn't usually this pessimistic, but ever since Vivian and Lily had nearly come to blows over whether a Tibetan Mastiff could beat a wolf, he had realized that as long as those two superwomen lived in his house, he had to assume the worst. If they weren't in his sight, anything could happen!

Harry felt uneasy. The weather was already hot, and he had been walking under the sun. Now he was sweating profusely. He found the air conditioner remote to cool himself down, only to discover-there was a power outage.

"What's going on today... I just got a mission and everything's going wrong?" Harry thought superstitiously.

Just then, he heard two familiar female voices at the door and felt a weight lift off his chest. Vivian and Lily were back. It seemed they hadn't dueled.

"Hey, Landlord, you're back?" Lily was the first to bounce into the house. Seeing Harry, she exclaimed, "It's almost noon. Landlord, let's eat!"

...This werewolf girl's brain must be made of noodles and rice. When it's mealtime, she can't think of anything else!

"What were you two doing?" Harry wiped the sweat from his forehead and looked at Vivian (Lily was already in "waiting for food" mode and had no conversational value). "I thought you went out to duel."

"There was a power outage. I thought we needed to pay the electricity bill," Vivian said with a smile. "So I went out and found the big dog to go with me."

Lily, surprisingly, didn't even flinch at Vivian's jab. This sillyhead had been called "big dog" by Vivian so often that she didn't even react anymore.

"You teamed up to pay the electricity bill?" Harry gave Vivian a strange look but quickly realized, "Oh right, you can't touch money."

Vivian's smile froze. Being hit with a fatal flaw couldn't feel good, but in the end, she just shrugged. "The neighborhood transformer blew. The power's been out for half a day."

Harry nodded and picked up a magazine to fan himself. "What a pain, on such a hot day... the power outage couldn't have come at a worse time. Hey, Lily, what's wrong with you?"

Lily was crouched on the sofa on all fours, panting heavily with her tongue out. "I ran a bit too fast on the way back. It's hot."

Vivian and Harry both stared in shock. Calling Lily a big dog was no exaggeration-this cooling method was way too advanced!

Although there was a certain charm in seeing a pretty girl act so silly, Harry couldn't help but feel a bit embarrassed. He gently reminded Lily, "In your current form... do you still need to stick out your tongue?"

Lily thought for a moment, felt the sweat on her body, and finally realized. She quickly sat up properly and retracted her tongue. "Oh, habit. I always forget. I haven't been able to break it after all these years."

Harry chuckled dryly, not sure what to say. But just then, a cool breeze suddenly wafted over from the side.

He turned his head in surprise and saw that Vivian had transformed into her vampire form. A faint red mist of blood surrounded her, and she was waving two small folding fans, blowing cool air in all directions...

"Landlord, is this okay?"

Harry's eyes widened. "Wow, this works?!"

Lily, forgetting that Vivian was her mortal enemy, quickly scooted over, enjoying the cool breeze. "Hey, winged one, doesn't your cooling usually come with a weird smell?"

Vivian raised an eyebrow. "That's for when I'm fighting. Can't I just blow some clean air when I'm cooling myself down?"

Harry was amazed at the proper use of non-human girls and couldn't stop smiling. "Vivian, you can be our air conditioner from now on. The electricity bill savings alone could cover half your rent!"

Then he announced the mission he had just received from Raven 12345: "By the way, in a couple of days, I'm going on a business trip-it's a mission from the Time-Space Administration Bureau. I'm heading to Europe, and the duration is open-ended. You two should come along. What do you say, are you free?"
