But I could see the worry in her eyes but also... Fear

Harrisville, Rhode Island

The night was quiet in the Perron house, the faint ticking of the grandfather clock in the hallway, until it stopped.

3:07am

Everyone was sleeping in the house, but something eerie was lurking in the shadows of Nancy and Christine's room. Both the girls were fast asleep.

Christine legs were hanging outside her blankets while the rest of her body was wrapped in it, her arms wrapped around a teddy bear of hers.

The sudden jolt of someone pulling her foot sends her to wake up, she thinks it's Nancy playing a trick on her. "Not, funny Nancy."

"What?." Nancy says sleepily. "Stop grabbing my foot."  Christine rolls over onto her side getting comfortable again. "I didn't do anything."

Christine rolls her eyes at her sisters back that was facing her. "Yeah right." The smell of something rotten waves up into Christine nose.

It almost smells like rotten eggs or rotting meat. "Ugh, stop farting Nancy, it really stinks."

"Do not blame that on me, it's you."

In the main level of the house, the static to the TV was going as Roger was asleep on his desk. All the lights were still on.

He jolts awake when hearing thumping of some sort. He rubbed his eyes trying to wake up, the thumping continues making him get up. He shuts off the TV in the living room.

Roger stops for a moment to hear if the thumping was going to happen again. He walks to the hallway that leads down to the kitchen. The thumping happens again.

He looks to see it's the door to the kitchen that's closed but it keeps opening and shutting causing that thumping noise, but it stops just opening slowly.

Now he thinks someone might be in the house. His feet carry him down to the door opening it slowly to see nobody, he just latched the door to stay open.

Then a coldness crept on him making him slight shiver he looks to see the kitchen window open, he walks over closing it and locking it shut.

Then there it was again..

Thump..

Thump..

Thump...

This time it wasn't the door to the kitchen, it was coming from upstairs.

Roger quickly heads down the hall to the stairs then stopping half way up when his oldest, Andrea, is standing there half asleep. "Andrea, what are you doing out of bed?".

Thump...
