Today, Daisy woke up happy. After her date with George, she felt fulfilled, as if a new perspective on life had blossomed overnight. Confidence coursed through her veins, almost as if she had completely forgotten the ghosts of her past.

George had left early to help his brother at the shop—but not before cooking a satisfying breakfast as promised, leaving it on her nightstand, and waking her with a gentle kiss. He tried to deepen it for a second, but she was too tired to even open her eyes.

With a renewed focus, she dove into work, finalizing preparations for her big bakery inauguration next month. As much as she loved baking, today everything felt incredibly hard to focus on—especially while bent over the same counter she had been with him just a few hours ago.

While preparing a fresh batch of croissants, her mind kept replaying last night. The laughter, the closeness, the electricity in George's touch—it made her cheeks flush all over again. She was so caught up in the memory that she didn't notice someone entering the store until the door clicked shut.

When she looked up, Fred was leaning casually against the doorframe, his deep, playful eyes locked on her—oddly elegant in a white shirt under a black sweater and perfectly tailored black pants.

"Always working, huh?" he teased, amused by how intensely she was scanning him.

Daisy blinked and glanced at the clock. It was already lunchtime, and she hadn't even realized it—not that she'd done much other than replaying the date with George in her mind.

"I could say the same about you, Fred," she retorted with a small smile, quickly washing the flour off her hands.

It was odd how, since meeting her, Daisy hadn't confused them once. Fred wondered what was giving away who was who—how she managed to tell who was standing in front of her at any given moment.

That curiosity vanished instantly, replaced by the real reason he was here—finally, the moment to find out how things would go from now on.

"What are you doing tonight?" Fred asked, his voice casual but layered with an unmistakable undertone of interest.

"Um, nothing. Why?" She furrowed her brow, nervously drying her hands on a towel.

The moment his arms rested firmly on the counter—the same one where she had shared such an intimate experience with George—it almost made her feel guilty, already anticipating what was about to happen.

"Would you like to go on a date?" he asked, his signature smirk spreading across his face as his eyes roved over her.

Daisy's cheeks turned pink, and she busied herself wiping down the counters, avoiding his gaze—she couldn't do this. It felt wrong to accept, knowing what had happened with George.

"Didn't your brother tell you that... we were together last night?" she mumbled, her voice almost inaudible.

"Oh, I know. We talked about it," he said softly, stepping around the counters—closer than she expected. "We both like you, Daisy. And if you're not offended by the idea... we'd like to date you. Both of us."

If it weren't humanly impossible, she would've sworn her heart skipped more than one beat and fell endlessly through her body. They couldn't seriously consider this.

After all the time she'd spent worrying about how embarrassing it would be to admit wanting both of them—now it was them asking for this unconventional relationship. For a second, she wondered if they had truly thought this through.
