Jay-jay's POV
Our class with Ms. Smith ended, but the heavy aura inside the room didn't vanish. I started to pack my things when I noticed that my classmates were ignoring me, walking past me with a serious face.
Weird.
What was up? I left the room to join the others, but why did it seem that they were avoiding me? I smelled myself, but I wasn't reeking of body odor either. So why?
I saw Felix and remembered that I had another chocolate in my bag. Since Ci-N wasn't present and I had still more in my bag, I guess I'd give it to him.
"Felix!" I called, running toward him. But he wasn't looking back and continued walking. "Felix!"
I almost ran out of breath just chasing after him. As soon as I caught up, I grabbed his arm. I was shocked when he suddenly swatted my hand away. Why?
"Hey, do you still want some chocolate? These will all be put to waste if—"
"Sorry, Jay. I need to go," he replied, his tone serious, before quickly walking away.
What was happening? Was it because of my middle name? Or because Aries was my cousin? What was up?
I noticed Keifer from afar. He was looking—no, he was giving me a deadly stare. What the heck was his problem?
I continued walking. Aries seemed to go home first, anyway, since I couldn't see his car in the parking lot. That was better, to be honest. But if Angelo knew about it, he'd be in trouble.
And I was right because, when I arrived home, Aries was already there, sitting on the sofa and watching TV, his feet resting on top of the center table.
"Aries," I said, getting his attention. He looked at me but quickly turned his gaze back to the TV.
"Why?" he asked, bored.
"Did you do something to Section E?"
His demeanor suddenly changed. Serious, but also angry. He put the remote down and faced me. "Why do you ask?"
Yeah, why did I ask? Because my classmates suddenly stopped talking to me and ignored me when they learned that you were my cousin.
But of course I didn't tell him that. I wasn't sure yet.
"Nothing, just asking."
Aries raised a brow. What a smart thing to say, Jay-jay, I told myself.
"I'm not stupid, Jay."
"B-because they reacted when they learned that my middle name was Fernandez."
Please accept my explanation. Please!
He sighed. "Maybe that isn't me. Maybe Angelo."
Hmm, really, huh?
"Alright. I'll go upstairs now," I said before heading upstairs to my room.
What an intriguing guy Aries was. And why would Angelo be involved? Ugh, now I had to think about Aries too. The issues in our room weren't finished yet, and now he was joining in!
Speaking of things to think about, Ci-N had not answered my text messages yet. I was truly worried about that kid, so I thought of calling him. It might be worth it just to quiet the worms in my brain. The phone rang for a bit before he answered.
"Hello?"
"H-hello? Is this Ci-N?" I asked.
"Yup, who's this?"
