What could you do if it was too hard to resist? A new Sonic game..? But it wasn't ever advertised.. is it a demo? Curiosity eats until it's full.
But satisfaction only brings suffering. Suffering in a new world with different rules.
And you forget...
You weren't expecting them to actually kill it. And there it was, dead on the ground and turning into a thick black smog. A norm for these creatures you guessed. You were cradling a shaking Scarlet, making sure her face was tucked away against your chest so she didn't see anything. She could hear everything but that was better than seeing it.
Sonic was rubbing under his nose with an accomplished grin and Shadow was holding another emerald. That made three.
"Out of my way alien monster." He spat out, looking at the dark puddle it had become. He put the emerald away, somehow in his quills, and turned to you and Sonic. "Y/n, you're with me. Let's get moving."
"Hey! You're really just gonna leave me?" Sonic whined, tapping his foot impatiently on the ground. Pouting like a child whilst crossing his arms.
"Sonic, it's going to be okay." You tapped his cheek, making him stop pouting. He chuckled and nodded. "I'll be safe, Scarlet will be safe, Shadow will be safe, we'll be safe. Okay?"
"Promise?"
"You know that's not something that can't be promised." Part of your face glitched for a moment as you raised a brow at him. Making him wince remembering your circumstances. But that would have to be put on hold. A disaster was occurring right now and he had to help stop it.
He shrugged and stepped back. "Worth a shot." He dashed off, not quite his full speed but still fast. "Call me if you need me!" You mock salute and walk next to Shadow.
"Where are we headed now?" You asked, making sure you didn't trip on any of the rubble. There was less death here than outside of G.U.N lines, but there were still the thrown away and mutilated bodies of soldiers. Just not as many.
The red glow of the clouds wasn't making anything look too pretty either. It made everything a hundred times worse. And there was such a beautiful sunrise today. Luckily, it seemed the clouds were only above the city and not anywhere else. That made you hopeful in seeing the sky again.
You were starting to crave the sun again. No matter how harsh her rays would become. Just to feel warmth would be enough for you. And to feel softer winds cool your skin, instead of the harsh ones that overtook the city, would make you tear up from how much you've missed them. Just like you had acted back in the jungle.
Shadow picked you up once more and sped off. His head seemingly gave him directions. Like he knew where the emerald was even though he wasn't being guided. All you could really do was trust where he was going. Being stuck in his, admittedly comfortable, hold. It was like he was going to be the last thing standing between you and the oncoming danger.
"Circus Park."
You trusted him. How could you not? He hasn't done anything to not deserve your trust and he was being dealt the shittiest cards at the moment. You couldn't help but sigh into him as he picked up speed.
Why does 'Circus Park' sound like an Eggman thing?
