The room was quiet except for the rustling of parchment and the faint scribbling of quills. Hermione sat at her desk, her nose buried in a book, while Y/n, sprawled out on her bed, was pretending to be busy with something, but her attention was clearly elsewhere.

"So, Hermione, tell me—how does it feel to be the only person in this whole dorm who actually enjoys homework?" Y/n said, her voice dripping with mock sympathy.

Hermione didn't look up from her book, but a small smile tugged at her lips. "I don't enjoy it, Y/n. I just—know how to manage my time properly."

Y/n snorted. "Oh sure. 'Manage your time properly.' That's just a fancy way of saying, 'I have no idea how to have fun.'"

"I have plenty of fun!" Hermione said, finally looking up with a slight grin. "I just don't need to spend my whole life procrastinating like some people."

"Procrastinating? Who are you calling a procrastinator? I work best under pressure!" Y/n said dramatically, sitting up with a flourish. "You'll see. I'll finish my essay in the last hour and still get a higher grade than you."

Hermione raised an eyebrow. "That's a bold claim. Last time you left it to the last minute, you ended up writing half of your Defense Against the Dark Arts essay on Care of Magical Creatures."

Y/n shrugged nonchalantly. "It's all about balance, Hermione. You can't be all books and no fun."

Hermione chuckled softly. "You mean all 'fun' and no books, right?"

Y/n stuck out her tongue. "Exactly. It's called living in the moment. You should try it sometime."

"Oh, I live in the moment all the time," Hermione shot back, "I'm just more selective about which moments I choose to live in."

"Selective, huh?" Y/n said with a teasing glint in her eye. "Tell that to the girl who spent three hours rearranging her books last week, just because she 'couldn't find the right spot for them.'"

Hermione froze, then narrowed her eyes. "I was organizing."

"Sure, sure, organizing," Y/n grinned. "It's a miracle you ever get anything done, given how much time you spend 'organizing' everything."

Hermione huffed and crossed her arms, clearly trying not to laugh. "I'm just trying to keep everything in order. You should try it sometime, instead of letting your notes become one giant pile of... whatever that is on your desk."

Y/n glanced at her desk with exaggerated innocence. "It's called creative chaos, Hermione. Very artistic."

Hermione rolled her eyes. "You're hopeless."
