Too far gone to know where it all started

Eventually I laid my eyes upon the elevator, watching as the doors crept open slowly.

I ran as quick as I could until I stumbled upon another toon getting into the elevator, my worry turning into annoyance.

"Ah, see you got yourself in some trouble huh Vee?" she asked playfully.

"Yeah yeah, whatever. Leave me alone. I have things to do."

We kept eye contact for a while, her playful smile slowly fading into almost a pitiful despair.

She mumbled something under her breath, crossing her arms, looking away.

I rolled my eyes, hoping this elevator would move any faster.

"You know, you've changed." Tisha mumbled, her voice almost sounding...upset.

I scoffed, "CHANGED? I've always been the same green game show host."

"Yeah...before you weren't." Tisha rolled her eyes.

Before..?

"What do you mean by-"

CREAK

All of a sudden, the elevator make a loud creaking noise, the doors finally opening to the office floor.

I stepped outside of the elevator, turning back one last time.

Tisha stared at me, her usual smirk being replaced with almost pity and despair.

"Tisha-"

"Go."

My eyebrows furrowed, watching as the elevator closed.

What did she mean I changed..?

I grumbled, still disturbed by the event.

Yet, I still continued on, sprinting as fast as I could to my destination.

Eventually my eyes lingered upon the back door to my stage room.

Hurriedly, I put in my last efforts to bust the door open, my entire system feeling exhausted.

I looked up, seeing the staff surprised by my appearance.

"Oh, hey Vee!" a staff worker said smiling.

I smiled awkwardly back, giving a small wave.

I walked around the backstage until I bumped into something, tumbling backwards.

I looked forward, my heart dropping.

Veronica?

She stared at me, her facial expression growing darker.

"Veronica- I'm sorry I-"

"Vee, do me a favor, would you?"

I got up nervously."Yeah yeah! What is it?"

"Leave me the hell alone..." she said, glaring at me angrily.
