Lets Break Each Others Heart- Chapter- Four

“Where are your parents?” I ask as I sat beside him.

“My mother is working and my step-father is probably out of town” He said.

I stared at him confusedly. Did I hear right did he say step-father?

“Can I ask what happen to your dad?” I ask.

“My mother got sick of him and they got divorced she just got married this year”

I was shocked. I knew Jedon mom and dad had problems but I never thought they would actually separate. I bet it was hard for him. I grab his hand and I squeeze it.

“I’m sorry” I whispered.

“It’s nothing my old man had it coming anyway”

I shiver and my entire body shakes. “Are you cold?” He ask.

“A little”

I watch Jeydon get up and he runs out the living room and he comes back with a gigantic blanket. He unfolds it and he covers him and me with it.

“Thanks” I wrap myself with it and I place my head on his shoulder.

“You remind me a lot of her” He says.

“I do? How?”

“I don’t know you just do”

I glanced at him and he was having a debate with himself. What exactly I wasn’t sure.

“Is that good?”

He looks down at me. “Its really good”

We spent hours talking with each other and eventually we ended passing out on the floor by the fire place.

My head rested on top of his chest and I could hear his heartbeat. It was the first time in three years that I was able to feel his sweet embrace.

Alijah was right I couldn’t break his heart because Jeydon is my best friend and no matter what happen in the past I’m willing to leave it in the past.

I wrap my hand around his torso and I sighed softly, I was going to be okay everything was going to be okay..I hoped.

“Janely im not going to do it” I said sipping my cup of coffee.

Janely drops her mouth. “Why?”

“Because he has change and I’m so hung up on the past. Its time to let go” I said calmly.

She shook her head. “That’s not what you were thinking yesterday!”

“That was yesterday and this is today” I responded.

She stared at me closely and quickly her face expression changed. “Oh my god you slept with him!”

I made a stupid face. “WHAT? No!”

She nodded. “It has to be a girl cant change her mind unless they slept with the guy in this hand you slept with Jeydon!”

I shook my head. “I didn’t sleep with him okay! I just spend the night at his house”

“Well that makes it even worse!” Janely shouted.

“Look It wasn’t like that okay I went to the bridge where we broke up he was there we talked and we went to his house I ended falling asleep in his arms okay!”

Janely stared at me. “ I still believe you should get your revenge”

I sighed. Janely just didn’t get it. I couldn’t do that to Jeydon I didn’t care if he broke my heart and broke it into a million pieces. I didn’t have the nerve to do something like that.
