Aaradhya pov:
It's been two fast weeks since everything happened in our lives... and honestly, it still feels like a dream. Or maybe a nightmare that finally ended. Either way... we're breathing now. We're healing.
Finally... all the lies are out in the open. The truth doesn't hide in corners anymore. And the people who hurt us—hurt Rudhran mama, hurt our family—they're all in jail. Thank God.
Rajendhran uncle is fine now... I still remember the moment he opened his eyes, and the way Rudhran mama just collapsed near him, crying like a lost little boy. That image won't leave me. Ever. It broke my heart. But it also... healed something in all of us.
And the most beautiful part?
Rudhran mama is finally talking to his appa... after so many years.
All these years, he believed something that wasn't even true... and it ruined the bond with the man who actually loved him with all his heart.
Uncle Rajendhran too... the day we told him the truth... the look on his face. He didn't say anything for a long time. Just held Rudhran mama's hand and closed his eyes. That moment? It was like watching a soul finally rest after years of being haunted.
He looked... peaceful. Relieved. Like his heart got the closure it deserved.
The day Uncle Rajendhran got discharged... it was supposed to be a happy one.
And it was—at least for the rest of the family. But Rudhran mama... he held everything in all day, smiling faintly, nodding, walking beside his appa silently.
And then... later that night...
He broke.
In my arms.
I knelt before him, held his hands tightly, and pulled him into a hug.
He didn't even resist.
His head rested on my shoulder, his arms loosely around me—and I just let him cry.
"It's not your fault," I whispered again and again, stroking his hair.
"You didn't know the truth. You believed what you were shown. But you came back, mama... You made it right." I know how much he was hurting. How much he was blaming himself. I've seen it in his eyes... that silent storm.
He didn't say anything for a while. Just kept holding me like I was the only thing anchoring him.
And maybe in that moment... I was.
And maybe he doesn't know it, but he's been my anchor too, all along.
Well, I'm slowly getting back to normal too.
Tonight, I'm sitting at the study table with Dhivya trying to focus on the mountain of notes in front of me. She's supposed to be helping me revise, but honestly... I think I'm helping her more!
" Dhivi read that line again. Don't yawn, I saw that!"
She giggles. "But Aaru... why are there so many dates in this chapter? Who remembers all this?"
I roll my eyes and snatch the pen from her hand."You have to memorise that so study" She groaned and start to memorise it Still... even though she acts lazy sometimes, I know she's brilliant.
Yes I was supposed to studying but, I couldn't help it. My eyes kept drifting to the window.
There he was—Rudhran mama, standing out in the garden. His phone pressed to his ear, talking business, probably. His hair wasn't slicked back like it usually is. No gel today, just thick strands of it brushing his forehead, and the first two buttons of his shirt were unbuttoned. His sleeves rolled up, showing his muscular arms.
I bit my lip, and just as I did, I heard a loud throat-clear.
I quickly snapped my gaze away and looked at Dhivya—who was giving me the glare.
