In other side in college
A boy, with a bag slung casually over one shoulder, walked beside a girl heading toward the library - her arms full of books, eyes fixed ahead."Gulaboo yaar, just listen to me once na..."
Saurav's voice was soft, almost pleading, as he tried to keep up with her pace.
"Please... just for a second, hear me out?"Suhani suddenly stopped in her tracks and turned toward him, clearly frustrated.
"Yaar chup ho ja na, Saurav! I don't want to talk to you. Why do you always come to annoying me?"
Her words were sharp, her tone louder than usual.
"You behave so quiet and decent around everyone else, right? Then be like that around me too, samjha? Stop acting like some road side Romeo"She took a breath, eyes blazing with anger.
others are better than you, alteast they don't irritate me and I don't like you anymore . You're not my type. Get that through your thick head and leave me alone!"With that, she stormed off, her footsteps echoing down the corridor, leaving Saurav standing there... frozen.
For a moment, he just stood still - no expression, no comeback.
Then without a word, he turned around, walked toward his classroom, grabbed his bag, and walked straight out of college. The sky outside was already turning grey.
As he stepped onto the road, the clouds broke open.
Rain began to pour - soft at first, then heavier. But Saurav didn't care.
His eyes, already red, now shimmered with unshed tears. And slowly... they began to fall.
He looked up at the sky - the rain mixing with the tears streaming down his face.
Suhani's words kept echoing in his mind like a loop he couldn't escape.Other are better than you,"I don't like you... you're not my type... stop irritating me..."
Each word pierced deeper than the last.
And in the middle of a rainy street, with the world rushing past him, Saurav stood still - broken, silent, drenched.••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

Saurav kept walking in the rain, aimlessly, letting the drops soak every inch of him. His steps were slow, heavy... but his heart? Even heavier. After a while, he reached a small hilltop from where the entire city was visible-lights flickering in the mist, life moving as if nothing had happened. He sat down quietly, knees pulled close, and whispered to the sky with eyes full of tears,
"What did I even do wrong, god?"
"I just tried to become better... not for her love, but for her friendship. I tried to become the kind of guy she liked-not because I wanted to impress her, but just... to be someone she could smile with."
"It was her own friend who told me what she liked... so I thought, maybe if I talk more, joke around, maybe she'll like me. Not love-just... not hate me. But it was hard, broo . For someone like me, pretending to be something I'm not? It's not easy."
"I didn't want to irritate her. I swear, all I ever wanted was to be her friend. Because I still remember the way she looked that day...."
FLASHBACK🦋
That day, a bunch of new freshers had joined college. Our teacher was in the middle of taking everyone's introductions when two students-one boy and one girl-knocked and asked for permission to enter.
The teacher said, "You two are new and already late on your first day?"
They both apologised and stepped inside.
Honestly, I didn't care. I never paid attention to who entered or who left. I was in my own world. I always felt left out even while being surrounded by people, so I preferred to stay alone-by the window seat, lost in my books.
It wasn't like people didn't want to talk to me. In fact, many girls wanted to sit beside me, talk to me... but I stayed quiet. Always. Except with my one friend-Ritik. But he came only once or twice a week.
That day, the guy introduced himself. I wasn't really listening. Then the girl introduced herself-Suhani.
Still, I didn't care... until ma'am asked her to sit beside me because the seat was empty.
I wanted to tell ma'am, "That's my friend's seat," but I couldn't. Ritik was absent that day anyway.
So, Suhani came and sat beside me.
She tried talking. I didn't. Just gave short replies-"hmm", "okay"...
But days passed, and slowly, I started talking. She made me feel... different. Warmer. She'd come every day and sit beside me. Her energy, her voice-it became familiar.
I started liking her. As a friend, at first. But I don't know when that feeling changed.
And when she started talking less to me... it hurt.
My friend-Ritik-went on a two-month vacation. And I became even quieter. Suhani still smiled when she saw me, but that was it. Just "Hi", "Hello", "Good morning". No more random chats. No more laughs. I hated it.

Heyy guysss
~How are you all?
Firstly, I know this might be a bit confusing — like there's no proper scene before this and suddenly a heartbreak scene shows up. But don’t worry, next chapters are coming soon and everything will be clear.
How was the chapter ?
