Anything worth doing well
Is worth doing poorly.Sometimes it feels embarrassing
To be young, novice, and relatively poor.
To squeeze eight people around my
Dining room table,
Pulling the swivel chair
Out from the office
And bumping knees and corners to make room
For another guest. But if hosting when you have space
Is worth it,
Hosting when you don't
Must be well worth it to.
After all,
It's about welcoming in the guests,
Not providing the perfect environment. It's worth it to host
With the best I've got.
To host with little room
And cheap snacks
Is far better than to not host at allSimilarly,
I baked a cake today
It was a chocolate box cake,
Nothing special.
It wasn't beautiful.
The candy stars were tacky.
But if a birthday is worth celebrating
Then it must be worth
Celebrating still with a cheap cake
And people that love us.Anything worth being done well
Is worth being done poorly.
And it is always better to do
As a novice
Than to not do at all06/04/25
