"Old man!"
It was the first thing Seong Gi-hun heard when he opened his eyes. His blurry vision slowly focused on a young woman with a genuine smile.
"Oh, God. Is he alive?"
Geum-ja and the others approached Eden when they heard her voice.
She smiled and nodded, waving at them to come over.
"Seung-hyun?" He managed to speak.
Eden nodded. "it's me, sir!"
"But....am I...?" He trailed off.
She shook her head, "I'm alive. And so are you! How are you? Did they hurt you?" She asked worriedly, sitting on the bed. "Where's Jung-bae?" She asked.
Gi-hun ignored her questions and sat up with Geum-ja's help. Eden backed away to give him space, wringing her hands in desperation The old man then managed to stand up, looking around the crowd of people that were watching him intensely.
"Where are the others?" He asked after a second.
Hyun-ju and Eden shared a knowing look, making the younger girl look down. Hyun-ju shook her head with hesitation, her whole face trembling in sadness.
Gi-hun exhaled deeply.
"And Jung-bae?"
Eden looked up at the mention of Jung-bae's name. She looked at Gi-hun as tears began to form in his eyes. Without hesitation, she wrapped her arms around his waist, allowing him to cry on her, only he stayed silent.
