Megan's POV

Karyn handed out our key cards like she was passing out homework. "Here are your personal room keys. Rest, unpack, do whatever. We're going to check out the shooting locations. If you're interested, you can tag along."

Not gonna lie-I didn't know if she was joking or seriously inviting us to run around in the woods with her. Either way, hard pass. I shook my head. I need a bed and about eight hours of silence. If I had to share a room with someone right now, I'd absolutely snap.

Amanda, ever the polite one, smiled and said, "It's fine, we'll rest." Sweet. I like that energy. Karyn and Diablo just nodded. Seriously though, aren't they tired?

"We'll be off. Do what you want. Read, sleep, stare at the ceiling-I don't care. Oh, and by the way, the first scene we're shooting is the pool one. You're gonna be wet for hours, so come mentally prepared."

Yeah, nothing like kicking things off with drowning. Love that.

After they left with the crew, Amanda, Johnny, Adam, and I all crammed into the elevator.

"Are we on the same floor?" Johnny asked out of nowhere.

Adam raised a brow like it was obvious. "Yeah, I think? Why would they book rooms on different floors? Same floor's more convenient."

Amanda, being Amanda, took all our key cards without asking. "Let me see these." She squinted at the numbers. "Actually... we're not on the same floor."

Right on cue, the elevator dinged at the 10th floor. Adam and Johnny stepped out, then turned like they were waiting for us to follow. Amanda smiled, pressed the button, and said, "Sorry guys-we're on 16." Door closes. End scene.

I saw Adam's face before it shut though. Hilarious.

Now it was just me and Amanda. And awkward silence. The kind that feels loud in your ears.

"So-"
"Umm-"

We said it at the same time. Then we both laughed. Thank God. I thought I was going to have to jump out of the elevator just to escape the tension.

"You first," I offered.

She shook her head. "No, you first."

Classic. This entire exchange felt like it was straight out of some sappy teen drama. Whatever. I rolled my eyes playfully and gave in.

But before I could say anything, we're already at 16th floor. Guess we're saved by the bell.

I wasn't even planning to say anything important. I just hate weird silences. Figured I'd throw her a line, see if she bites.

We started walking down the hallway, reading the room numbers. I glanced at her and asked, "So... why'd you audition for this role?"

Random? Maybe. But I was curious. Needy Lesnicki isn't exactly a typical part.

She shrugged, still looking anywhere but at me. "I thought it was cool," she said.

"You know, being part of this kind of film is exciting."

She paused for a beat. "Besides... I heard you were starring too, so..."

I stopped walking.
She froze. Looked like she realized what she just said a second too late.

"I-I mean, it's Megan Fox. You're Megan Fox. I always saw you in tabloids so... so I was just curious, you know? I-"

She was spiraling. And it was adorable. I laughed.

"Oh, so you wanted to know more about me?" I teased-lightly. I didn't want her to combust right here in the hallway.

She fake coughed and practically ran past me. "Oh! Here's my room. I'll see you later!" she hardly slams the door so I immediately flinched a little.

Then I laughed again.

Amanda is really cute.
