The motel in front of them left the group unimpressed and skeptical. It looked like a mess and they were positive it wasn't just the hurricane's fault. It was coated in chipped old paint, there were missing shingles throughout the roof, overgrown weeds, and rusted metal. The sign, Summer Winds Motel, was kissing the ground.

They all knew this side of the island isn't as glamorous as Figure Eight or the mainland might be. However, the fact that the place in front of them was still up and running came as a shock. There's no way a place like this could pass inspection.

JJ whistled. "And I thought the Chateau looked bad." He joked.

Millie was sitting on the gunwale next to Kiara when the mystery motel came into view. She sat up straight, looking at the place.

"This place is a shitshow," John B agreed.

Kiara scrunched her nose up, glancing at Millie. "Motel or meth lab?"

"Methlab." Millie and Pope answered in chorus.

She looked over at Pope and chuckled, noting the expression on his face. He was definitely trying to come up with a reason for them to be anywhere but here.

"Doesn't look like a place someone with a Grady-White would stay." John B claimed, sharing a look with JJ.

"No. Looks like a place someone with a Grady-White would get killed." Pope chimed in.

Millie got up from her spot. "I'm starting to believe the boat owner is the killer." She said, looking at the run-down motel.

"This is your captain speaking. HMS Pogue comin' in for landing." JJ jumped off, tying the boat down.

John B jumped down soon after. "Hey," Pope called to him. "Don't let him do anything stupid." He glanced at JJ.

     "Oh, we will." JJ grinned.

"I'm not making promises." John B told Pope.

JJ looked back at Millie, hands on his hips. "Mills, you comin'?" He asked.

Millie grinned as she sat down on the bow, her legs crossed in front of her. "Less trouble here." She replied.

"Be careful," Kiara said as she handed John B the key. "I mean it." She added.

The other three looked awkwardly at each other. John B turned back around, patting JJ's arm as they began to walk away.

Kiara dug inside her cooler, fishing out a beer bottle. She walked over to the bow, sitting opposite Millie. She passed the bottle to the girl who thanked her with a smile.
