"Thanks, Angel Face." He was wearing a cool black tee shirt, a thick navy blue cardigan with the sleeves rolled up, showing his forearms again, and some blue and white Jordans. His hair was brushed back, and he wore a beanie over top his hair that was black. Beanies... I thought. We have that in common.

By the time we reached the restaurant, it was only 5:20. We walked in and were greeted with the warm scent of fresh baked pizzas. A slow smirk spread over my face as I inhaled. A lady with a huge smile painted on her face approached us, and her smile seemed robotic and prosthetic.

"Hi! Party of 2?" she asked for reassurance. We nodded and she smiled brightly again.

"Table or booth?" she asked. Logan and I both looked at each other and it seemed clear of what we wanted.

"Booth," we simultaneously stated. She nodded, glancing at us both and grabbing a hold of 2 menus.

"Right this way." We followed loyally until she stopped at a random booth, placing the menus beside the 2 utensil wraps on both sides. She looked at us with a more genuine smile this time.

"My name's Sylvie, by the way. I'll be back in a bit to get your drink orders," she said before quickly walking off. We took a seat, looking at each  other for a few seconds across the table before we opened up our menus.

I was looking all over the menu, trying indecisively to figure out what I wanted. About halfway through skimming over it, Logan laid his menu down and stared at me.

"What's up?" I asked with a smile, gazing at him. He narrowed his eyes playfully and a smirk made its way onto his face.

"You're thinking about something," he told me as he sized me up. "And it's isn't what you wanna eat." I nodded when I realized he caught me. I decided to just say it. It seemed to be the elephant in the room.

"Rule number 1?" I asked, and his eyebrows went up in a knowingly fashion.

"It's just some stupid deal me and the guys made when we were young and---wait, you were listening?" he questioned. My face flushed with embarrassment.

"Your walls are paper thin..." I lied.

"Yeah," he said, his voice slightly breaking. "They must be, 'cause I know Angel Face wouldn't eavesdrop on purpose... would she?" Even when he was trying to be serious, his sense of humor lingered, adding to his charm factor. I could see a small smirk forming on the side of his mouth, but I could tell he was trying to hide, in those beautiful green eyes of his, that he was a little nervous. Then I remembered what he told his friends in the kitchen, he confessed that he liked me... no wonder he looked so nervous!

The way he grabbed my hand without hesitation and the way he constantly flocked to me made it pretty obvious, but the fact that he voiced it out loud made it official.

Back to the fact that I legit eavesdropped on his personal conversation with his friends. All I could do was plaster a light smile on my face, looking beyond stupid. God, I was so embarrassed. What do I say? I thought. I can't just keep smiling at him like a complete idiot...

I could tell my smile faded away as I searched for a response. Suddenly, I felt his hand become interlocked with mine, giving me chills.

"Ya know, you're really cute when you're embarrassed," he said, burying the fact that he was embarrassed himself. So are you... I thought. He smiled at me with those gorgeous teeth, happy to see me blushing at his compliments. Our eyes met and our gaze almost felt like forever, but the beaming woman who seated us reappeared again, interrupting it.

"Hi guys," she said. I then noticed her southern accent. I wondered if she ever got tired of smiling so hard. She held up her pen against her notepad, eager to scribble down our requests. "Let's start out with some drinks. Have any idea what ya'll want?"
