Chapter 13-2

Do you really want to catch the one that saved your life?

You got up and went to the kitchen to get a chocolate bar. After opening it you took a bite and let it melt on your tongue, while you were making your way to your balcony. In front of the door, you stopped and took a look at your notebook that was lying in the middle of your bed. Without any thoughts, you looked away and opened the door that leads to the outside. A cold wind blew into your face and your nose was sucking in the typical smell of the autumn air. You took another bite of your chocolate bar and leaned against the door frame. 'A whole week that I've wasted in the hospital...' you said to yourself and closed your eyes as the wind blew against your face. You tilted your head back and let your (long/short) hair dance in the wind. A long moment later you brought your head back to its normal position and could feel the pain. Yes, you were still in pain and had to wear a bandage on your forehead for a while. With your left finger, you touched the spot on the bandage that was hurting you most. 'Uhh, what did I plan to tell Hideki anyways?' you wondered. 'I know it was something important but what?' you narrowed your eyes to focus and tried to recall the right memories, but unsuccessfully. At once, you escaped your mind, backed off the balcony and closed the door. Then you grabbed your phone after going back to the living room to call the woman from the bakery to deliver a strawberry cake. You planned to make tea right before Hideki would arrive so it stays hot. And so you waited...

... "I told you this meeting what urgent right?" you started as both of you directed to the living room of your house. "Yes, that's true." Hideki responded in a thinking voice. You let yourself fall on the soft couch and watched how Hideki climbed on the armchair on your right side to sit in his usual weird sitting position. Both tea and cake were already on the table on two plates in front of each one of you.
"I'm listening!" Hideki ordered you to start. "But before I start, I want to ask you something!" you made a short break and looked into his black eyes, that were waiting for you to go on. "Are you already working with the Japanese task force or still alone?"
"I'm currently investigating with the Task Force." He let you know without moving his eyes from you. He already saw the bandage but didn't question, since he expected you to explain it. You got excited knowing that he is currently working with the legendary L.
"That means, you and the rest of the team are working with the world's greatest detective L, who is currently leading the Kira investigations. Am I right?" you came to the point. Hideki was in silence for a moment and looked deep into your (color) eyes. "You are thinking, that L is leading the Kira investigations with the Japanese task force at the moment.' he started in a thoughtful tone. 'Why do you think that?" L's voice sounded very interested.
You crossed your legs and stared at the wall in front of you.
You were lost in thoughts.
Lost in the memories of the incident that happened 2 weeks ago.
They were still blurry, but you knew that if you talk to Hideki about it you would remember them clearly.
"Listen. On that day I planned to go shopping since I had no food left at home. I decided to have breakfast in a coffee shop and had my coffee cup with me..." you started with the story and told him everything you could remember. You threw the information at him and hoped, that he understands the content and wouldn't get lost. Hideki listened carefully to you and understood what you were trying to tell him.
He didn't get lost.
He would never get lost...

You told him about the guy and the woman who was called Naomi, the flashback you got, forgetting your shopping bags in the shop, finding Naomi but with strange behavior as if in trance. You told him not to interrupt you and wait for you to finish. Hideki was biting his thumb while alternating between looking at you and out of the window that he walked to while listening to you.
You also told him about yourself getting lost and ending up in that area, getting trapped from a drunk criminal but managing to escape. Then walk right into his accomplish who wasn't drunk and grabbed you. You told him your plan of pretending to be Kira and knocking out the man but when you were about to escape, the first criminal got you and started to struggle you.
"...all of sudden I fell to the ground and knew he let go of me. I heard him groan and then I saw how he collapsed to the ground. I..." you remembered the scene and took a deep breath to continue in a calm voice. Your heart was beating when you remembered that Kira killed a person that was trying to kill you. "...I know it was Kira who killed him. But... I don't know." you ended and kept your eyes on Hideki. He was certainly going over everything you said.
