Hideki stared at you. "I am watching him currently!" he told you in his boring voice and you didn't quite understand what he meant. "We have installed cameras in houses of two police officers, who live with their families. L believes that there is a chance to find Kira there, since he got access to our recent private investigations, but is not among us." Hideki explained.
"Ah, I see. That's a good plan!" you said and thought about it. Actually, it was a good step to catch Kira, but what exactly are they looking for? They must have a theory of what Kira does to kill, so they will be able to check if he acts like that or not. And what if Kira kills with his eyes or mind? Then even cameras can't help to figure it out.
"By the way, does your team have an idea or theory of how Kira kills? I mean it is clear, that Kira needs name and face to kill, but what does he do with these information? It could be possible, that he only needs to imagine the face and reply the name in his head again and again in order to kill a person. Then not even watching him will help to find out when and how he kills." Hideki seemed to think for a moment before replying. "I don't think that's the case, but if it was, then he only needs to miss a little detail or make one little mistake and he will be caught!" Hideki was determined, which made you excited. "Only one mistake...Then catching him will be a piece of cake." you continued. "We already made up a fake message, which is going to be broadcast soon. '1500 FBI agents are coming to Japan'. Kira will feel cramped and believes, that everyone around him can be an FBI agent. He will want to kill them, but since they don't exist, nobody will die and I doubt he will get to know any information about them like he did with the previous agents." Hideki let you know. "Great idea! But what about the previous agents? What happened?" you questioned.
"There were 12 FBI-agents, who were tailing our suspects, but they were all killed by a heart attack. We are sure that the killer was Kira who was certainly among the suspects who were kept under observation. Misora's fiancee was one of the FBI agents, who was watching Light Yagami. With the last of his strength, he turned to the doors of the train before passing out. I'm sure his killer was inside and he wanted to face him." In surprise about the news, you were listening to him. "Misora used to be an FBI-agent too, who once worked under L's command before she quit." Hideki continued. You didn't reply, but let these information reply again and again in your mind.
There is just so much, that was connected to Light Yagami. So much, you didn't expect that. There is almost a high chance, that he is the wanted, Kira. But it's only a theory. No proof or any material, that gives a lead or tells us he is Kira. "Hideki, look out. Don't miss any little hint about Light!" your cold voice sounded. "You don't need to warn me." Hideki said and looked out of the window. He knew you suspected Light Yagami. At the moment he was the only suspect. And his suspicions grew. Specially after what you said. Hideki was thinking. But your mind was messy. There were just too many information all at once. Besides Light, you also thought about Naomi Misora. Now everything made sense. Because she left her job, she didn't have an FBI-ID and couldn't call herself an agent anymore. But her experiences and her fiancee's death caused her to investigate more about what had happened and now you were sure, that she had found some very interesting information about Kira. Unfortunately, no one from the Kira-investigation team was there and...
'What if she trusted Light Yagami? What if she told him everything she knew and he killed her? If he is Kira, then it made sense to tell her about L so she trusts him and then he wanted to get rid of her since she posed a threat to him...' you shocked and felt the urge to see her as soon as possible.
"The problem is, that we have no information about the time in which Kira started to plan on killing the FBI agents." Hideki's voice brought you back to reality. "He might have planned it some minutes before their deaths, or hours, day or weeks ago." Hideki explained.
"He can control the time of death of his victims and doesn't necessarily need to be there. Yeah sounds like a little problem." you noticed. "Not only that." Hideki added and you gave him a surprised face expression. "There is something else?" you wondered and waited for his explanation. He walked over to your bed and held an envelope out to you with thumb and index finger. "Besides controlling time of death, he is also able to control the behavior of a person before they die. Take a look at these photos!" He ordered and you took the envelope from him. You opened it and found 3 photos inside, which you took out. You looked at the first one and saw a huge red pentagram on a wall. Hideki clarified. "The first victim was a prisoner who drew a pentagram with his own blood on the wall before dying of a heart attack." You looked at the next one. " This is a written letter by another prisoner before a heart attack took his life. At first sight, it seems like the prisoner was just afraid of Kira, but if you read the first line from the left, you will see the hidden message. 'L, do you know...' definitely from Kira!" It was really mysterious and you spend some time looking at the first and second photo before Hideki continued and you moved to the last one. "And the last one was also a prisoner. He ran to the toilets before he died there." "By a heart attack..." you completed and gave the envelope with the photos back to Hideki. As he took it from you he went on: "If you think long and hard enough, it would make sense, that there were more victims serving for Kira's little experiment, but since his power of controlling his victim's behavior was limited, they either died in a normal way or stayed alive. So we can conclude, that his power is not supernatural and focuses on real life matters." Hideki explained his theory and gave you another envelope. When you opened it you found again 3 different photos. One look was enough and you recognized the first one. It was the same letter with the hidden message 'L, do you know. You looked at the others and didn't need much time to recognize, that all of them had a hidden message in the first line. If reading them in order, they reveal a sentence that awakened your great interest.'L, do you know'
'Shinigami's'
'they love apples''Shinigami's...' you thought very interestedly. 'There are some reasons why Kira could have sent this message to L...' You were deep in thoughts before you looked up right into Hideki's dark big eyes. "I got the message." you said. "Why do you think did Kira send this very sentence?" you questioned.
"It seems like a provoking step. Starting with the first part, that was meant to make L very curious and impatient to wait for the rest, which turned out to be some nonsense." He said and you continued. "It also shows how confident he is and how certain he is about his power." You put the photos back into their envelope and gave it to Hideki who agreed with you. "Yeah, that's true. He is sure about him being in a safe place. He thinks it's impossible to catch him, but he is wrong!"To tell the truth you didn't bother about that. You were not really interested in knowing why Kira did that. 'What I am interested in is what Kira meant by that message. Shinigami's, they love apples...' You said to yourself. 'Is he talking about himself loving apples, because he is a Japanese killer and sees himself as a god? But then he said Shinigami's, which means 'Gods' so there are many of his type, which makes it harder to catch Kira if there are many Kira's...! Might also just be a dumb message to provoke L. He is aware to avoid as many information as possible, since L can find out tons of things about him only by a few information! So it would make more sense if it was a nonsense message.' You concluded, but couldn't stop thinking about it. 'I need to make some researches about death Gods when I'm home. I have a feeling, that there is a reason why Kira chose to talk about them!' you decided.
For a while, none of you said a word. Both were deep in thoughts thinking about all information, that were discussed on this day.
Too much happened. But too little hints.
Everything is real. But too much cannot be explained as real.
There must be something behind all that. And if it can't be proved, then it can be explained by a legend or myths.
You knew that.By now Hideki was back in his armchair, sitting with his knees to his chest and his hands on his knees. You were still lying in the bed and stopped confusing your mind. There is nothing that you could do for now. You waited until you were back home.
