Ella could tell they were getting close when she could smell the salty air of the ocean around the city, so far from Gwen's apartment. As Peter gave them one more tug, he landed on top of a little platform, holding Ella tight so she wouldn't fall. She released her death grip on Peter and took in their surroundings.

A shriek escaped her lips as the wind rushed past them causing hair hair to fly all over the place. The honk of cars brought Ella's attention downwards and she shrieked once more. They were on top of a bridge. They were on top of an actually bridge! Peter noticed her fear and quickly grabbed her chin, forcing her to lol up at him. He gave her a small smile.

"Hey, hey, hey. Ella, it's alright." He said, letting a small smile of amusement slip past.

No it was not alright. They were a good hundred feet off of the ground and heights might notice been a problem for her until now where there was a fifty-fifty chance of her falling off of the bridge. "No, Peter you took me to a-" Before Ella could finish her sentence, Peter leaned in, immediately shutting her up.

All the fearful thoughts slipped her mind as she closed her eyes and leaned into Peter's touch. He always seemed to have that effect on her. Leaning deeper into the kiss, Ella completely forgot everything, her mind turning to mush. As they pulled apart, Ella felt extremely flustered to a point where she couldn't remember the last time she acted like that.

"You shut me up again." Ella stuttered, her eyes never leaving Peter's. He always seemed to be doing that. He'd always been able to calm her down, which was kind of nice. No talking equals her not freaking out about things.

Peter let out a little chuckle shifting the tow ever so slightly so they turned. "You always seem to be talking."

Ella couldn't help but roll her eyes, a small smile also forming on her face. "You always seem to be kissing things." As long as she was the thing he was talking about kissing then Ella was alright. She didn't mind him kissing her at all.

"I only kiss pretty girls I like." Peter said, his attention solely on Ella. She couldn't help but smile a the fact of him being a cheesy romantic from time to time. It was adorable how he tried to be the cool one. All those pick up lines yet he could only manage to get one girl named Ella.

Ella laughed, throwing her head back as she did. "How smooth."

The two stood there, unsure of what to do next. It was a silence but it wasn't awkward. The two were just reveling in each other's presence. Everything was so quiet up above all the madness and Ella had to admit there was a sort of beauty to everything around around them.

Peter awkwardly cleared his throat causing Ella to snap out of her stupor, her eyes once more finding Peter's. "Hey, Ella. I'm sorry about everything. About the first day. About being so stupidly myself sometimes. But I want you to know that no matter what, I'll always be there for you. Like I said on your first day, I'll always be there to catch you when you fall."

"Peter, you didn't really have to apologize. I was mostly pulling your dick but I love you for saying all that. What you need to get is that I forgave you the minute we split up from each other on that first day. Alright, it's a two way street so if you fall, I don't care if you're Spider-Man or not, I will catch you too." She nodded her head lightly, as serious as Peter. Their street was a two way street and she would not slack off trying to help him. No matter what he'd say, she'd go and find some way to help him.

Peter gave her a cheeky smile; a clue that he was about to ruin what she had just said. "That's cute, did you think of that on the way here?"

"Wow, Parker." She rolled her eyes. Of course he was one to do something like that. Obviously oblivious to the whole moment thing. "You really are good at starting moments and then ruining them."

"Damn, I really gotta know when we have this moments." He said jokingly, not at all worried that he ruined the moment, probably because she didn't. Ella was still there and so was Peter so the moment was not ruined. Whenever they were together, that was a moment.

"I'll be sure to tell you when the next one is." She whispered leaning closer to Peter. Her eyes flitted from his down to his lips and back up again. "It's now. Don't screw it up again." She leaned in and pressed her lips to his. No matter how much of an idiot Peter was, he was going to be her idiot.

They didn't spend much longer up on the bridge due to the fact that Ella was practically freezing her ass off up there. Peter somehow managed not to ruin their last moment before he grabbed her tight and swung her back to her house. Everything was finally going well, sort of. But Ella would take that as a win.

"I'll see you tomorrow, Carson" Peter said, giving her a smile and a peck on the cheek before flying off into the night. Ella wasn't even able to get a word in before Peter left abruptly. She didn't mind it that much, but for some reason all Ella could do was stare into the cold of the night. Peter was out there somewhere and she had no doubt that he was feeling the exact same way.

Something was just terribly off with them, with the city, like things were about to get bad. Tonight was just the calm before the storm before disaster would strike and Ella didn't know if she was prepared for what was to come. But with all bad things come good endings. That's called triumph rising from tragedy. There will always be triumph from tragedy, except for in those rare cases. Now felt like one of those cases.

Whatever it was, the scales of balance had probably tipped so much that tragedy would strike and this time there might actually be no triumph from it.
