"You shouldn't be." He grinned. "Come over to my room. I know what happens in there, at least."
"Is it any cleaner?"
"Nope."
"Ew," Alex said but he followed him in anyway, shifting a pile of clothes so he could sit on the bed.
Felix looked at him, opened his mouth to say something and then thought better of it, shaking his head and reaching for his laptop on his desk instead, switching it on.
"What?" Alex asked.
"Just, you had an issue with cleanliness and then you went and sat on my bed and I should probably tell you that that's the worst place to sit."
Alex jumped up, peering down at the sheets. "Are you serious?"
Felix laughed. "No, but you should've seen your face. I make it a point to wash my sheets the day after because that shit is gross."
"Do you have to do it a lot?"
"So much."
Alex wasn't sure if he was kidding or not but he decided he didn't want to know, settling instead on shifting further up the bed, moving a pillow into his lap so he could take its position. It was a double bed, since the enhanced rooms in halls came with both a closer location to campus and better facilities, and it already felt more comfortable on his own, which only reminded him of how tired he was. He'd had a long day, having to be on campus at nine and choosing to stay there after his lecture. So it was a little bit of an understatement to say that the bed was calling to him.
Felix looked at him with a vague sort of amusement. "Tired?"
"Sorry," he said, shaking his head in an attempt to get rid of the fuzziness. "Is it that obvious?"
"A little. You're nodding off."
"I had an early start."
"Nine am lecture?" he asked, with a sympathy only uni students could understand.
"You know it."
He laughed, "You can crash in my bed, if you want."
Alex didn't need that much persuading, if he was being honest. He kicked off his shoes and gave Felix his jacket to hang up and then he was curled up under the sheets. It'd been pretty cold outside recently and, wrapped up in a thick duvet, the bed was soon luxuriously warm.
"You know this means you have an open invitation to crash at my place?" Alex said, popping his head out.
Felix smiled at him. "I'll cash in one day."
It made him sleep easier because Alex had never been entirely comfortable with owing people and the offer made them even which was something he could deal with. Maybe it'd become a thing, he really hoped it would, because he liked the fact Felix had a double bed and two pillows. It was ridiculously comfy and it was only too soon that he drifted off to sleep.
Later, around two hours later if his phone was correct, he rolled out of bed and headed into the living room, sorting out his hair with his hands. From the look on Felix's face, he wasn't too successful.
"Cute."
Alex lifted a hand self-consciously. "Shut up, we can't all look pretty after a power nap."
"Do you want coffee?"
"I want coffee all the time."
He laughed. "Alright, sit down and start reading through the tabs. I'll get a brew going."
"Two sugars!" he called after him, because it was imperative he knew.
"I won't forget, princess."
